Pascal gets second round tender

Pascal will get 3.38 million for 2021 from the Colts, if no other team signs him (which rarely if ever happens).

Pascal is not the speediest receiver, but he is an elite route runner. Glad to have him back. He is a piece of the puzzle that we need.

If another team signs Pascal then we will receive a second round pick.

Vastly underrated player the Colts.  All he does is make two or three plays a game.

I agree completely. Often times (we) fans can be so focused on the standout players that the important role players are overlooked. Pascal is a big time role player for us.

I would take a proven WR then a unproven second round pick. Pascal has averaged over 600 yards the last two seasons.

Pascal is a great role player, he's just not a dynamic guy you need to be at the #1 or #2 WR spot. He's had to be a #2 the past couple years out of necessity. And since we now have Pittman at X, Pascal's production will likely shift to situational big slot duty. He was integral to the team when we didn't have a true X, but now we do.

At this point, a 2nd round slot or Z (the draft is deep with them) is one of the bigger needs for us. And second round WRs (actually 2nd through 4th) have an average AV that is not all that much lower than 1st round WRs. 1R WRs typically are skewed by the top 10 guys, so remove them, and it gets even closer in AV.

So in short, Pascal is more or less demoted anyway by the rise of Pittman, and will be further shelved if Campbell stays healthy at slot. The need for a productive Z/slot is now greater than the need for a #4 WR.

I'm happy we are keeping him.   No one will give us a 2nd round pick for him.  I would take a 2nd for him but not by as wide of a margin as some in here sound like they are saying.  I was looking at 2nd round receivers taken in recent drafts and some are better but many are not.

There is no guarantee Ballard is taking a WR with that pick. We could get another Banagu, Rock or Wilson. I will stick with the proven guy.

Elite is probably a bit much lol. He's super solid at basically everything and I'm glad he's back though!

There is no doubt that Pascal is an ELITE route runner.

I'm not really here to argue and be negative but elite means top 5-6 in the league. Pascal isn't one of the best route runners in the league. If TY comes back, he's not even the best route runners on the team.

As I said, he's solid at basically everything, and I'm very glad he's back. Not every player has to be elite.

We don’t need to argue a comprehension issue.

I didn’t say that Pascal was an ELITE receiver. I said his route running is ELITE. Overall he is a very good role playing receiver. He is not a quick or fast receiver. He has above average hands, he is above average getting 50/50 balls, and a really good blocker. Overall he is a good receiver. His route running is undeniably ELITE.

If there's a comprehension issue at hand, it's entirely on your part. I referred explicitly to his route running.

To say that Pascal is an elite route runner is to say that he is one of the 5-6 best route runners in the entire NFL. That statement is not even close to being 'undeniable'.

Just off the top of my head:

- Stefon Diggs

- Antonio Brown

- Michael Thomas

- Keenan Allen

- DeAndre Hopkins

- Odell Beckam

Pascal is already out of the top 5-6.

- Adam Thielen

- Amari Cooper

- TY Hilton

- Jarvis Landry

He doesn't even make the top 10.

Just going to drop this for you...

This is me dropping the mic and walking away. You can keep talking all you want about it though.

Haha so because HIS OWN COACH said he ran a perfect route on ONE PLAY, it's 'undeniable' that's he's a top 5 route runner in the league?

This has been a bizarre conversation from start to finish. Cool highlight though. Cheers!

Its obvious that you haven’t paid attention, and you don’t have an eye for these things. I’ve watched a lot of tape on Pascal, and I am convinced he is the best route runner the Colts have rostered since Reggie Wayne. Yes that means I am saying that Pascal is a better route runner than TY. It’s not just me who praises Pascal for his route running either. His route running has been featured in many reviews (including Baldy), and the announcers have also praised his route running several times. PFF even calls him an underrated receiver who is overlooked. But I am not going to do the work for you. It’s not worth my time. Have a good day and Go Colts!!!

    • https://www.nfl.com/news/bill-tobin-longtime-nfl-executive-dies-at-age-83   He drafted some all time great players like Harrison, and of course is famous for his verbal match with Mel Kiper. RIP!
    • Then begs the question. Do u want to say draft a MJH at 4 and turn around in 4 years or would u say draft Turner and pay him 30mill in 4 years? All day every day for the franchise rush end. I am not a big believer in 30 mill for a wr. Reid is a fantastic coach and look what he did with Hill.
    • I literally just posted that clip, it's where the conversation about QBs started.
    • Funny you brought this up.  I just listened to an interview Ballard did today with Rich Eisen.  He asked him if he has given any thought on how many quarterbacks will be taken before our pick and how many does he think.  He said sure we go through those evaluations.  It helps us with for planning purposes.  He asked him how many.  4 or 5 or 6?   He laughed out loud at 6.  He said Rich if it’s 6 we will be so excited.  Let’s hope so.  He also said the draft board is not yet set.  Won’t be until the night before the draft.  He also said he has had multiple conversations with other GM’s concerning the draft.  Preparing themselves for opportunities that could take place.  And they will continue up until the draft starts.  He said trade conversations won’t really materialize until you are within three picks of any trade.  Giving you time to finalize it.  Interesting interview.  Oh he pretty much ruled out moving up for Harrison.   Going up into the top of the draft would be very costly for him he said.  Thinks he’s a great talent but he thinks he’s pretty much out of our reach.
    • I personally wouldn’t touch Williams with a 10 foot pole. He seems like a distraction and cancerous. He may be Uber talented but I don’t feel like he is a winner, and don’t feel like his heart is in it. I think he gets the bag and just sets it on cruise control. There is absolutely nothing to base this off of aside from my gut feeling.  Maye Daniels  Penix Nix McCarthy   Maye is your prototype passer and I think his deficiencies are easily fixed with good coaching.   Daniels seems the most limited to me, proficient and will be very dependent on where he goes.    Will always have a soft spot for Penix, he throws such a pretty deep ball. His 40 time should have opened some eyes.   Nix is probably the safest pick IMO. I think he’s got the tools to fit nearly any offense. Has the athleticism, arm talent and I think he’s got the between the ears to excel in most offenses.   I see the appeal with McCarthy, he was as unselfish as they come allowing the run game to shine instead of checking to pass plays. I think his ceiling is a solid game manager.
