Yeah, this isn’t true either.  His salary is a backup QB salary at $6 mil.  
I think that BB will either go for Watson or Jimmy G, or trade up to get a top 4 QB in the draft.

 

Patriots are looking very, very good right now.  One or if not THE best TE group in the NFL, solid WRs, upgraded front seven, better O-line with Brown...

I think they draft Mac Jones. He will be there when the Pats pick more than likely and he would probably do well in BB's system. I can see that. Cam could still start but BB may have him there just to insure he has 2 QB's that gives him a chance to win. Cam as a backup would be great in a pinch.

BB turned this around quickly !

Cam is being paid $14 million. He is there to start and I think he will be the starting QB for the Patriots and have a great season. They brought Cam back and they signed two really good tight ends and two WRs. That shows where BB thought the problem lied. They also traded to get a very good LT back and they have several players coming back after opting out because of Covid. I agree they are going to be a factor and Newton will be the field leader.

Cam is still your QB. The roster is better but totally overpaid for most of the guys you signed on Day 1. Isn't that a big no, no for Bill?  I mean fools gold, right?

 

I would be totally shocked if Houston traded within the AFC much less to the Patriots. But stranger things have happened. lol

The full contract is WORTH 13.6 million IF they make the right playoffs, if he wins MVP, win the SB, and Sb MVP.. he is only guaranteed 3.5 million.. he is being paid backup money.  They will IMO trade up to get a top 5 QB my guess to 7 so they have their choice of Lance,Jones or Fields.

I had already read it. Of course they are not guaranteeing anything. They never do but Cam will be the starter and that team is better on paper right now than the Colts but it is too early to make that determination but the Patriots are far ahead right now including at the QB position in my opinion.

He isn't going to be a backup and I don't think they will move up to draft a QB either.
