Or how about Wentz take number 7 and he and Pittman go with the 7/11 "Always Open" catch phrase.  The fact that he reached out was a clear sign that he wanted the number.  It's good that he's not gonn

Breaking news.   Wentz texted Blue inquiring about the number 00.   Blue only sent this in response.   Not sure if this is yes or no however

Appears the answer is 2.      Super stoked to see he seems to have gotten the very first one.

I think Wentz should be happy to be a Colt.  He shouldn’t need to ask to wear number 11.  I know he asked Pitman and was shot down and took it like a champ. I appreciate that Wentz didn’t scream Im a Diva and I have to have number 11.  But Wentz performance last season was awful.  Doesn’t matter if philly WR sucks or there Oline sucks etc..  Wentz just needs to put on whatever the number/Jersey is handed to him and go out there and show the world you are an Elite QB and That Philly was the problem.

Good Move by the Colts. Philly fans seem to obviously love this guy.

Also number 2...Hmm

Maybe for 2nd chance/ 2nd NFL team. Maybe I’m over thinking a number choice. Lol

Edit: Haven't been very active here... didn't see the whole 10 page thread dedicated to this that already had this news broken. Please feel free to lock and direct to that thread. My bad!

2 for second NFL team?

That would make sense.

Good find!

2 was a hunch I had based on 1+1 from the original 11.

Love that his #1 fan is seemingly breaking the story.

What a troll job by Wentz if that number is correct.  That is Hurts number in Philly  LOL

Lol. I read in that kids thread he was almost 2 when he was drafted so probably nothing but it is funny.

Class move on Carson’s part. Gotta love it for the kid and really cool he’s bringing him to a Colts game. Think we’re going to be in good shape with this Qb on and off the field!

Cool.

Carson better not let that kid down again!

I don’t think Carson ever let this kid down in the first place...

He’s clearly this kids hero because he went out of his way to be nice to him and has followed it up twice now after he was traded with the surprise zoom and now the Jersey.  I think Carson has done just about everything this kid could could have asked for.

    • Pacers are an amazing organization IMO.  They’ve assembled competitive teams for most of the last 25 years with very few high draft picks and not much FA draw to the square city in the middle of a cornfield.   They stink because of injury.  I’m pretty bullish in them assuming a return to the court for all these injured guys.  Are you?
    • The Seahawks allocated about 20% of the cap to the oline, raves about 12,  and 2011 NYG about 15.  That is what this thread is  about, cap economy.
    • In one of the posts I’ve said it’s possible that the Colts are revolutionizing football which happens every so often.  It’s not likely statistically because these type of changes happen once or twice a decade or so.   I said think the rules dictate that the passing game is the most efficient way to score.   One thing that might favor such a revolution, is the fact that since the rules are set up for passing success, teams have adjusted their personnel characteristics,  smaller LBs, nickel base ds.  It’s possible that  emmit smith era emphasis will come back.  I doubt it though.  You still are going to need to throw it into the end zone.
    • I’m not talking about having a great oline.  I’m talking about spending 30 to 40% of your cap in them..  Of course having a great o line is helpful.     The Hoggs aren’t recent.
    • They did Kelly's extension in September, just before the season started.   As for the percentage of the cap, the correct projection is to compare the projected cap hits to the projected salary cap figures. Just because contracts account for X percentage of today's salary cap doesn't mean they'll be the same percentage of the salary cap two or three years from now.
