Kemoko Turay: Gotta get this ankle better, big day today

Well that's less than ideal. He is still injured it seems. Those ankle injuries are becoming worse than ACLs nowadays. I don't know what he means but there is a hospital emoji in his tweet. I wonder if he's going to get some type of surgery again. Either way... hopefully all goes well and he's ready for next season.

He was the one single pass rusher amongst Ballard's draft picks that amounted to a high level of play. I am not sure what to say. Ballard has to play free agency for pass rushers then, over anything else, IMO.

Ballard really needs to go after a guy like Carl Lawson. He shouldn't cost a ton, and is a young ascending pass rusher.

100% agree, he had 32 QB hits/pressures versus 12 for Justin Houston. Sacks only indicate a finish of the play regardless of who provided the pressure, but QB hits and pressures show consistency of pressure, IMO.

Sacks are important, because as you said, they indicate finishing a play which is important. But with our defense, having 4 guys that can create constant pressure is every bit as important as finishing with sacks. Constant pressure with four man fronts will cause chaos with this defense. No quarterback wants to force throws on this zone.

My point was Houston was more of a recipient of someone else's pressure though he does get credit for the sacks he delivered. Going purely based on sacks to evaluate his pass rush efficiency would be a mistake and might also be the reason why Ballard wants to go in a different direction than Houston, if reports are right.

Very true what you said about those QB hits. May I also say those hits during a game added up. QB is effected by them over the course of a game.

Not out of the norm for players to have off-season surgeries we don’t hear about, McAfee mentioned that was one of the reasons he retired was because he was tired of the surgeries yet they were rarely reported.

In most cases medical procedures can't be discussed because of HIPPA laws.

Kemoko is a bonus.

If he plays, cool. If not, it’s exactly what’s expected from a guy who can’t seem to ever stay healthy.

His college and NFL resume are identical.

Nothing to get excited about with Turay.

Thank you! That's how I see it also and I think if you look at Houston play we're going to see that:

1 - He was better than most of our DEs, especially the young ones.
2 - Number 1 above is pretty bad, because he did not applied pressure enough and a lot of his sacks were QBs evading because DTs broke the pocket from inside.

    • This presser has reinforced how I feel about this draft and what we might do.  This is one of the most “it can go any way” drafts I’ve been apart of as a colts fan.  Based on our needs, the strengths of this draft, and where we pick, there are numerous ways this thing can go.  Some takeaways I got from this presser:   - Getting AR a weapon:  I think after this presser, we are definitely getting an AR another weapon.  I’m not sure if it’s going to be with the first or second pick.  Bowers to the colts doesn’t seem likely to me now.  Ballard really likes our tight end group and I can’t see him investing a high pick into the tight end room given what we have.  But either way, either the first or second pick will be a weapon.   - Anything is possible:  we may trade up, stay put, or even trade back.  It all depends on how this draft goes, who they have on their board, and where they have them rated.  I can see us trading up if one or two of the top 3 WRs get to pick 9.  I can see staying put if our trade up options are gone but someone looks to be falling to us.  I can also see us trading back if we have first round grades on certain players who are left and can be chosen later in the first round.  I can see all of these things happening and it really all depends on how things play out.  Personally, I’d hope we trade up if one of the top 3 WRs get close enough and doesn’t cost us too much.  But either way, we’re in a unique position and this can go a lot of ways.
    • Noway  Ballard  does that trade  but if he did he trade next years first for more seconds
    • I doubt  he moves up for any of those guys unless they fall to around 9-12. Only way I see us getting  Harrison  is through  free agency  in a few years if he chooses  to leave the team that drafts him.
    • He was a mover and shaker. Sad to hear of his passing.
    • Might make more sense to try and move up for Nabers or Odunze, as to do so might be significantly less expensive and arguably, you might be getting a WR that is just as good.
