He’s not been overly impressive after his injury that caused him to miss 2018. He had potential but hasn’t lived up to it, even in the Rivers’ offense that loved to target the TE. It would be a big meh for me and I hope we wouldn’t get into a bidding war to get him. Much rather get into one for Kenny Golladay since Stanford likes him so much.

Back to back 600+ yards seasons is pretty impressive. He’s a top 10

TE the last two years. If he stays healthy...who knows where he could end up.

MAC isn't going to be the guy.  And Doyle never was.  He's a nice chain mover, but not a playmaker.

We do need an Ebron type, without the drama and baggage.  It'll take more capital than what you suggest, IMO.

I think we had enough of Ebron's drops to ask for another of his type.

The whole Steeler nation were complaining all last year about his drops.

What kind of contract would he get

Spotrac has him at $10.9M/year: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/los-angeles-chargers/hunter-henry-18983/market-value/

Overthecap has him at $9.7M/year: https://overthecap.com/player/hunter-henry/4748/

For comparison:

Kittle makes $15M/year

Kelce makes $14.3M/year

Hooper makes $10.5M/year

Seems odd that our top FA target is a TE when we don't currently have a QB......

I don't think he's our 'top FA target'... and more likely than not it sounds like we'll be acquiring a new QB via trade.

Or ~1/2 of what Jacoby Brissett made as our backup QB in 2020.

But it seems like most want that 6'4" WR that can run like the wind?

Cole Beasley (5'8") type player would be fine with me.

Who doesn’t want a Calvin Johnson or Randy Moss? Crisp route runners like Davante Adams & Justin Jefferson are sweet too tho.

I think Henry is definitely a bigger threat to stretch the field than Doyle.  Both big guys, both can catch and block -- but like you pointed out, Henry's got a bigger wingspan and is significantly faster than Doyle.

Here's a quote from Irsay from Colts.com front page: "On where he wants to see improvements/additions outside of quarterback: "I think we need another one or two big playmakers on offense at tight end or wide receiver. I think we have a real interesting mix there. It's amazing when you see 87 (Travis Kelce) and 10 (Tyreek Hill) in Kansas City, the things they do and that sort of thing. It's remarkable. I think we're again, looking offensively for a couple more playmakers.""

I'm glad someone in the organization sees how the game is played successfully these days.
