Fitzpatrick knows what it takes to QB in the NFL. Eason has zero experience. They won't hand an 11 win team to a 4th round draft choice with no experience.

That may demonstrate one advantage of Eason's 4th Round status: management may not feel pressured to push him out there, as Miami may have done with 5th overall Tua, maybe forced to show ownership that it wasn't a mistake...while 6th overall Herbert was lighting it up.

If this is true....  about the Wentz rumor above,  I’d say, wow!   But in a good way.    If true, then it would be the teams have agreed to terms but won’t make it official until a certain date and time.   Not sure when that would be?

That said....   seems very, very early to have reached a deal.   Not sure I’m buying this yet without more strong supporting evidence.

Couldn’t.  Disagree.  More.

I think the exact opposite is true.   Throwing an inexperienced QB in to start before he’s ready is bad for the player and the team.   It can stunt growth, it does not always promote development.

Calling using a veteran for a bridge year quarterback a waste is a fans view, it’s not how good GM’s view things.

There's no way it's true

Ballard said no trade is happening today

Look at my post again.   I didn’t say it’s happening today.   I’m talking about agreeing to terms one day, and announcing it on another day.   Like maybe next week, AFTER the Super Bowl when the attention can be on the Colts.   Announce it today, and it gets lost in the Super Bowl weekend which includes the Hall of Fame announcements including Peyton and maybe Reggie.

I have never heard of either of the guys who tweeted this about Wentz coming here. Maybe it is true, maybe it isn't but until I hear it from someone like JMV or Schefter for example or someone from the NFL Network, I won't believe it.

I don't know?

Im thinking with Ballard stating a trade isn't happening today and outlets reporting the deal is close and no other deal being announced. Can't be official until March 17th anyway.

Im thinking Wentz to the Colts is what it is.

I've Wentz back and forth over Carson coming here, but ready to cheer on his resurgence.

That page has over 200k followers. That’s the only reason I asked. The number of followers makes it seem legit.

If it were true, it’d be all over msm right now

Bears and Colts fans are both all over Twitter saying they don't want Wentz

That should tell all you Wentz supporters something

He isn't worth it

One time the saying “if you listen to the fans, you’ll soon be sitting with them” doesn’t apply

That's funny because my friends who are Eagles fans are * that they are gonna trade Wentz.

They're also * Roseman kept his job because his bad drafting and bad contracts have destroyed their roster.

Why would that make him mad lmao

Because he believes Wentz is great but is getting held back by a bad roster and if he goes to the colts we'll win a super bowl and it will make the eagles look bad.

He's still a little bitter that we stole Frank Reich haha

Then we aren’t getting a very good vet. The market is what it is. Can’t be cheap and expect some team is going to give us a deal because they feel sorry for us.

There's a glut in the market. And it's also a good QB draft (even Ballard agreed).

In other words, supply is higher than demand. As Ballard said, nobody is giving deals right now. They're all asking for a lot. That will change. Right now, you can't act out of desperations, and things will settle down. You have to set value, and stick to it.

He followed his own script with Stafford. I hope he does the same with others.

I have a feeling he'd make a move on Wilson or Lance. Not a "sell your soul" move, but strong if they fell to a certain point.

I could see Lance falling to around 14 and Ballard trading up

If we did trade our first to the Eagles, they’d be in serious position to move up and draft Wilson or Fields.  If either became stars and Wentz’ regression continued then that trade would go down in infamy in Colts history.  Part of me thinks that Wentz’ agent is leaking all of this info.  Trying to drum up interest to get a move done as soon as possible.  Plus if you hear that the Colts are getting him for our 1st it gives the Bears a simple hurdle to clear.  They up the ante then we’ll hear they’re offering a 1st & 3rd. Hoping the Colts would counter again with a 1st & 2nd.
