If I'm Ballard I'm pretty ticked off at Howie for leaking this.  That is something that is rarely done.  If I'm Ballard i'm focusing on Ryan right now.  I would love him to get Ryan before any Wentz trade.  Stick it to him.

Agreed, I’m withdrawing my offer immediately if I were Ballard. Course if I were Ballard, I’d not even inquired to begin with

not sure how the districts do around you but the 3 districts that make up Gibson County work together to make weather decisions

since it's been leaked it sets a new precedent: two 2nds and a 3rd/4th for a starting QB  (dws)

isn't that how this "precedent-setting" works? looks like it's no longer necessary to give up a 1st for one of these guys

I don't know how I feel about giving up 2 seconds + another pick. I would be okay giving up this year's second + a 3rd or 4th next year, but it's a lot to give up given his contract & play last year.

It's seems frank isn't too worried about his play last year

Correct, here are the details, as a refresher for those who may have missed it (which is understandable because this thread grows faster than Gremlins after you feed them after midnight):

If that's the best offer that's been heard then that should probably tell the Eagles something about their chances of getting a 1st for him.....

Remember the guy who broke this story is a legend in Philadelphia so this might have come from someone in the organization and not HR

I would tell them that regardless.

Would be happy if this QB option, Wentz elsewhere.

wentz is still young he had one bad year the rest were very good .    look at ryan tannehill he is a top ten guy now and was never as good as wentz was before the titans got him .  I live near the philly area now and got to see a lot of wentz  and the guy is super good reminds me of luck .   some of his throws are on the ropes good and he can scramble and hit a target on the run on the money like mahomes .    frank will have wentz with over 30 touchdowns and under ten picks watch .   ballard is smart he knows how scary the colts will look with wentz.  money wise  if the colts draft a tackle in the 1st they can get dupree  as a pass rusher to go with turray who  will be fully healthy that starting 4 will be deadly then add a corner in free agency and hunter henry and go get another corner or pass rush in round 3 and 4 of the draft

They canceled school for 4 inches of snow?

Where I went to school in East Tennessee, they would cancel school bc of heavy rain.  They did it by the county and there was a k-12 school up on the mountain with 80 kids total.  We would get out of school 10-15 days a year.  Never had to make them up either.  It was great bc school would be canceled for the week and there wouldn’t be any snow where we lived.

Not me

if no one Ballard loves is there at #21, I wonder if he could talk his good pals the Jets into taking it for #34 and #66? (or maybe CB could live w/ #86 instead of #66)

especially if he's sent #54 to PHI along w/ 2022 2nd and a 3rd/4th

wentz problems came from his head coach plus personal drama in his life .   that is why he went down hill this year not that he is a bust .  i watched manning in his 4th year throw so many picks and pick 6s that people thought he was broken when the colts went 6-10 . then the next year colts make the playoffs and the year after that manning wins mvp .  even ballard said all QBs have down years and its up to them to work through it .

wentz first 3 years were all better then rivers this year with the colts .   with a fully healthy wentz next year this team will go 13-3 and be what they should of been with luck .  without a real QB this team will waste its young talent who are entering their prime .  Last year rivers went 3-13  and people were against bringing him in now people are against wentz but the same thing will happen . ballard is a genius

I can see Pace getting another coaching hire, however. While I wouldn’t call the job Pace has done outstanding, I also wouldn’t call it awful by any means. He just picked a coach who turned out to be much worse than he (and a whole lot of people) had anticipated.

If this were the price I’d be ok with it. It’s enough, but not too much. Ballard has earned enough trust at this point that I don’t think missing those picks would be anywhere near a disastrous situation for us. Not for a second do I feel like Ballard wouldn’t be able to keep this team headed in the right direction without those picks.

But it would probably be make or break for Frank. This whole deal hinges on him being the one who can fix Wentz, and if it turns out that he can’t do that then we paid a hell of a price to find that out, and I don’t think failure would (or should) be looked upon fondly.

Frank is pushing for this deal. Don’t think anyone will dispute that at this point, but maybe someone wants to make a dumber argument than “us pursuing this trade will make FA QBs less likely to want to come here”. There’s no way of knowing how hard he’s pushing for it, or what he’s telling everyone he thinks he can accomplish with it, but the harder he’s selling it the more responsibility he’s earning for whatever happens.

Knowing Ballard, he would trade down to multiply the 1st to a 1st and 3rd or get a future 2nd like he did with Washington. He cannot do that with a 2nd, that is why he wants to keep that 1st rounder.

He did it in 2019 and 2020, didn't he?
