Move on.

There will be some good options available..

Stafford, Darnold, Rodgers, Trubisky, who knows what teams might do.

Rodgers? Why on earth would GB trade the league MVP? He's been durable the past few years. And an elite QB. He's only 37. I could see him playing into his 40's like Brees and Brady.

I would like to say, no matter what happens, we are truly lucky that we had Rivers play for us this year. He may not have been the answer, time will tell, but the way he competed, the way he carried h

Rivers no Turnovers, 309 Yards, 2 TD's. We gave this game away. I haven't been this disappointed since losing the SB in 2009. We had them beat, I am sick right now.

Id have zero problem with Phil coming back if Eason isnt ready. We damn sure didnt lose bc of Phil.

He's been talked about a lot as a trade option. A lot of Lions insiders and reporters are suggesting the Lions move on from him. Kinda similar to the Matt Ryan situation.

If Rivers retires im ok sending 1 for Stafford. If they want more hang up and draft QB.

It's the way we lost, I just felt like we gave it away. I thought we outplayed them. I hate the season is over. I feel bad for Phil because I thought he played well. I feel bad for our team. Great group of guys. Fun season.

It’s not the players that gave it away. That’s why I absolutely hate this loss

Yeah I do not want to overpay for him. I don't know why, but I honestly have a good feeling about Eason. His arm talent is underrated.

He will most likely be the backup in 21

I wonder if we let Brissett play on a team friendly one year deal. I don't think it's that crazy.

If that happens Eason will be 3 again cause there's no way Brissett is starter

Question is. Who is the alternative?

We were spoiled by great QB play for like 20 years.

Now we are seeing what it's like to be most other franchises without a QB.

Sure, the question of the alternative is challenging. But I would prefer a younger and more mobile qb.

I don't think you should stick with a 38 year old qb whos play is clearly declining and you know tjat he won't be good enough to win it all.

I would rather take a shot at a younger qb. If hes not good enough, ok.... Move on.... nothing lost:headspin:

I don't know, it seems to be the unpopular opinion around here but I think the team values 7 more than we do, by a lot.

No to Stafford & Ryan type QB's. And no to Brissett. We know what these guys are. They aren't terrible. But they aren't game changers.

I want us to either draft a QB or start Eason next season. Worst case scenario is Eason sucks and we draft high in 2022.

I agree. I was just wondering if anyone could offer names.

Personally I'm in favor of starting Eason next year. Or drafting a QB this year. If we suck next year at least we know who the answer isn't.

No band aids like 28-3 Ryan or Stafford. No Brissett.

We know these guys. They are what they are. All are either old, limited, or just meh.

I don't want to be stuck in the middle. That team that might contend for a postseason spot. But doesn't have a legit SB shot. And is drafting in the middle.

If we want another season like this year, then bring Rivers back. I think he’s played “decent” enough but not sure if he can take us the distance. I think fans want to see Eason. But if he’s not ready we’re going to need to sign a FA Vet and it could be Rivers again.

That’s the correct answer.

I think Rivers taking that Hail Mary play (when everyone knows JB has the better arm) means that was his last play.

I'm fine with him being backup not starter

Really hope he retires. I don't see how they resign him after not being able to throw the ball 40 yards on the hail mary.

I was actually surprised Jacoby wasn't brought in to throw the Hail mary.

probably not because even if it came down to him and EasonI think Eason would win out.

But there are a few teams I could see him starting on.

He could start in Cincy cause it appears Burrow might be out til 22

I could also see him starting for WAS, CAR, NE, NO, (could backup TB12 in tampa as well) I mean the dude is gonna get his shot. I'm sure of it.

    • It's no secret my favorite player in the draft is Liam Eichenberg.  Started 36 games the last three years for the Irish at Left Tackle, allowing only 3 total sacks, all of them in 2018.  Not a single sack the past 2 seasons.  This season, allowed only 1 QB hit.  And remember, their opponents included the pass rushing terror squad from Pitt.  Nada.  He's not the most athletic, and has a limited ceiling.  But his high-grade technique makes him plug and play ready today.  8.56 RAS score, mostly coming from his strength and agility scores.  Not so much on explosion.  The biggest knock on him is his 32 3/8" arms.  That's not poor.  That's downright bad.  And yet, he earns multiple first team all American honors, and keeps his QB clean.  It's a serious reach to take him at #21.  But I would do it.  My favorite player.
    • Alright guys, 1st round of team selection is over. We'll go in reverse order for team2. Only going to wait an hour for each. If you miss your window, you can still jump in and pick a 2nd team later. • Sorry,  long response.   Much to respond to.   To the Wilson ranking....   sorry, no.    That's NOT the way it works.    Wison may be tied in grade with over 30-something other players,  but at some point,  you have to rank them in order of preference   And Zierlein ranks has him at 64.  He could've been ranked at any of the other spots.   But he wasn't.   He was slotted at 64.   That's how this works.      And while you  can call it "all over the map"  a number of good evaluators have him with a first round grade.   The worst was Kiper with a mid-3rd round grade.   We took Wilson right in the middle of the range of rankings.   Mid-40's.    There isn't an issue with where we took him.   Tabor may have been CB1 for Florida,  but he was not a better NFL prospect.   He tested badly and slipped.   Wilson was the youngest player in the draft.   The size of a safety.   He had better upside and long range potential.  Unfortunately,   he wasn't mature enough and it hasn't worked out for him at any stop.   But he was drafted roughly where he should have been.      Carrie may or may not have been a good solid back-up,  but he was a BIG disappointment in Cleveland.   He was signed to a big deal.   $8 mill per.    That's starter money, not back-up.   Cut after two years.    And no one was interested until late in the process.   Ballard found value in the discount isle.   The gamble regarding Rhodes was this....    what if he didn't work out?    We signed him to be no less than CB2, and CB1 if things went well.    The $$ cost may not have been much.   But now imagine how this forum would look at Ballard if Rhodes was a bust and his play cost us a playoff spot?   The gamble was signing someone on a cheap deal.   People would be screaming that Ballard got what he paid for and why didn't he sign someone better to a bigger deal?   It would've been a lost opportunity to do better.   Again....  I'm not clearing Ballard of blame.   But no one bats 1,000 in this business.   A first rounder is considered by some to be a 50-50 proposition.   On balance, I think Ballard has done well.   Hope you'll note my post from the other day where I disagreed with Greg Rosenthal calling Ballard the best GM when it comes to the draft.   I think that's wrong and I explained why.   We will have a better idea by the end of this season.  Guys like Turay and Lewis from the 18 class,  plus the first four from the 19 class...   RYS, BB,  Parris and Oke.   If those guys come through,  Ballard's drafting will look even better.    And if not, we will see when the winter of 22 comes around.
