We just need to complete plays. If Pittman makes that catch or Rodgers gets that INT or Turan doesn't go offsides then this a different game. Let's get a better second half. Let's  go!

That's why I'm not down on passing on the FG.

We're gonna have to get a lead and hold on. We aren't going to win going toe to toe with them.

Also, it is just me or does it seem like the Colts have an especially difficult time punching it in especially inside the 5?

I feel like this has been an ongoing issue throughout the season.

Rivers lack of mobility does affect things because the D knows he is not a threat to run it in an does not have to account for him and it takes away rollout type plays, etc.  Thats the only thing I can come up with as to why.

Reich IS A TERRIBLE PLAY CALLER. Period. Especially in the red zone.  How many times does he screw things up with his mindless sequence of calls? He is a serious problem for this team going forward. He does not have the ability to call a good consistent game. He’s a darn good head coach. And needs to give up play calling after this season. Just so painful to watch.

Bright side.... I’m not mad at Isaiah Rogers getting more reps on the perimeter at corner

Yes, I believe his issue is he gets beat deep. Playing the over the top zone. If he stays underneath, he should be fine. He has the closing speed to make a difference.

The 3 BIG, unfortunate plays of the 1st half, all of which went against the Colts

1. JT drop in open space

2. Frank yet again being a sucker for failed analytics in not taking the give me 3pts

3. Turay for being an undisciplined dink in jumping offside.

Jesus.... I thought they were all under 100 posts.... Calm down friend....1300 of the above posts is way too stressful.

So what you are saying, is striving to make a game changing play is punishable by banishment? I'm sure turAy is being hard enough on himself, you. Would have never jumped there, we all know that, but the colts for whatever reason we're unable to secure a contract for you.....

Honestly I don’t understand where you’re getting at with this one.  Before the snap, I’m more than sure all of the veterans and players communicated to one another to stay disciplined.  Turay clearly ignored that.  I just don’t think it was a team ball play by him, who JUST came back late into the season

Every single close play in the first half from Bills catches on the sideline to the interception that wasn't went against us and we are still in it. The only exception was the face mask non call. Not saying the calls were wrong, I'm saying in spite of every close play going against them, the boys are still right in the game. Just need to make some plays in 2H

I just doubt he ignored that.  Failed at executing that advice? Absolutely..... Doubt he just went rogue there.....

#3 for sure

I also thought Hilton should have caught that ball that Rivers threw in between two Bills defenders.

That wasn't on Pittman even Boomer said it was on Phil and needed to throw it better, but yes I agree we need to make plays

    • Could he do it?  Sure, but it is much tougher for him than most owners in the NFL.  The Colts just layed out $200 million this free agency.  I imagine over half in guaranteed money.  That’s a lot for Jim.
    • With all that said...
    • Spending doesn't mean you will win. You still need to spend smart and you still need to draft well and overall make good decisions.    Not spending limits you in your roster construction. I don't know why it's so hard for people to understand. The best teams in the league use ALL available avenues for improving their team. They do not limit themselves artificially with what's possible to achieve. They also concentrate resources into windows of contention. This means at any given time, if you are not spending you are competing against teams that are pouring resources into trying to win it RIGHT NOW. You will just always be at disadvantage because while 1 specific team will need to reload and take their lumps for spending too much in short period of time once in a while, the league as a whole will always have at least a few teams that are in that high spending mode chasing a window for contention.    Now... is it possible you strike gold and beat those teams while relying almost exclusively on the draft? It's possible. If you string together a few insane draft classes. But it's not very likely...
    • This gets peddled like it means spending in FA doesn’t work. The Rams won a Super Bowl by spending. The Colts don’t spend and haven’t won bupkis since Ballard got here.    I’m not saying the Colts should just spend mindlessly and I don’t think that’s what anyone wants. But, Ballard’s gotta cover his draft misses by spending in FA otherwise we’ll never win with him at the helm.
    • Agreed. Tom always brings thoughtful perspective to the forum and I enjoy reading his posts.
