Please be mindful of your fellow posters.  Don't use the game day thread to vent or call out fellow posters as either homers or haters.  It's obnoxious and ruins the thread. Plenty of time for new threads after the game for expressing your point of view.

Trevor Lawrence is really scared watching this game on his couch right now.

Happy New Year, everyone!      We have reached the end of the regular season but not the end of football for your Indianapolis Colts. The 10-5 Colts will make the postseason i

I’m going to let these zebras have it all game, I’m close enough for them to hear me.

Another game that could have been over at halftime.  Four points off the board on the penalty, not converting in the red zone.  More bad end of half defense.  Instead, it's a ball game.

Limping into the half

I wouldn't say limping.  We just went allot of yards in under 30 seconds to set up a FG try.

Whoever created the prevent defense, should not have created it. Worst scheme ever.

It seems like most teams/coaches use it. Years ago, I did not understand what was meant by "playing not to lose". But playing prevent defense is "playing not to lose" rather than playing to win. Just my :2c:

hot rod is deadly accurate but his range is the reason he went undrafted .

Yeah an undrafted rookie is only one of the best FG kickers in the league.

Lets cut him.

Yeah, we didn't score a TD on every possession, and the defense didn't pitch a shutout.

Terrible half.

He didn’t say that. Why the exaggeration? It’s a valid concern about his leg strength

when did i say cut him? i said he is deadly accurate .   I said his kicking  power or range is why 3 kickers went ahead of him .  what is wrong about that statement?

    • The Seahawks allocated about 20% of the cap to the oline, raves about 12,  and 2011 NYG about 15.  That is what this thread is  about, cap economy.
    • In one of the posts I’ve said it’s possible that the Colts are revolutionizing football which happens every so often.  It’s not likely statistically because these type of changes happen once or twice a decade or so.   I said think the rules dictate that the passing game is the most efficient way to score.   One thing that might favor such a revolution, is the fact that since the rules are set up for passing success, teams have adjusted their personnel characteristics,  smaller LBs, nickel base ds.  It’s possible that  emmit smith era emphasis will come back.  I doubt it though.  You still are going to need to throw it into the end zone.
    • I’m not talking about having a great oline.  I’m talking about spending 30 to 40% of your cap in them..  Of course having a great o line is helpful.     The Hoggs aren’t recent.
    • They did Kelly's extension in September, just before the season started.   As for the percentage of the cap, the correct projection is to compare the projected cap hits to the projected salary cap figures. Just because contracts account for X percentage of today's salary cap doesn't mean they'll be the same percentage of the salary cap two or three years from now.
    • I believe he means we trade a player who has some kind of salary that would lower the financial impact.   For example, if we traded back Doyle.   That would help financially.      Obviously, that’s not happening, but wanted a clear example.
