What I expect to happen on Sunday and the best scenario for the Colts

You can't write this in any Hollywood script. Here is what I expect to happen on Sunday.

Early games

Steelers at Browns: Wouldn't it be something if Mason Rudolph knocks the Browns out of the playoffs? Especially after Miles Garrett took a helmet to his head. I understand the Browns are getting their receivers back but the Steelers are going to give them a dogfight. Browns will come out on top though.

Dolphins at Bills: The Dolphins are starting Tua in a must win game is a head scratcher to me. I don't think they make it. There hasn't been anything coming out of Buffalo McDermott is going to rest his starters and starting a rookie QB in a must win game is not a good move. Bills win!

Ravens at Bengals: The Bengals want to get Sewell and their line will not hold up against the front of the Ravens. Also, too much Lamar and their offense. Ravens take care of business and beat the Bengals.

Late games

Jaguars at Colts: Colts come out on top and avenge the week 1 loss beating the Jags easily

Titans at Texans: I thought real hard about this one. JJ Watt basically threw certain players under the bus in that postgame conference. Players are playing to be on the team next year, Watson is going to give the Titans defense nightmares, and Titans defense cannot be trusted. Their defense has given up big play after big play the entire season. I expect the Texans to come out playing with a fire lit within them and upset the Titans and giving the Colts the AFC South. Remember, the Texans took the Titans to overtime in the first matchup between them.

Playoff teams in the AFC: Chiefs, Steelers, Bills, Colts, Browns, Ravens, and Titans. Dolphins do not make the final 7.

I could love if it works out like the scenario described above.

I don't think it'll happen, but if Cleveland, Miami, Baltimore, Indy & Houston all won, the Titans would be out!

I'd rather see Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Baltimore, Us & Houston all win, then beat Tennessee at home in the Wild Card Round before going to Pittsburgh and knocking them out.

the browns beat the steelers by 30 with mason last year .  the bills are looking ahead to the playoffs , and i doubt they play their starters . the only hope is texans , and they are 4-11 for a reason .    colts chances are really around 10 percent or less .  It hurts but nothing can be done the colts brought it on themselves . You cannot expect another team to care about helping the colts or winning a meaning less game .  They are thinking about the playoffs or off season most of their bodies are sore and beat up from a long covid filled season .

I expect Buffalo to try and win that game.. I’m sure they’d much rather host Pittsburgh than have to travel there.

The only way I see Buffalo take the starters out is if they look up and see Cleveland with a big lead.

What makes the difference when there is no fans and weather is pretty much the same

I think thats a dream scenario. I think Browns, Titans, Ravens and Miami all win. Steelers and Bills want to rest starters.

Tomlin announced Rudolph was starting

I saw nothing about Bills resting starters

Keep watching.....Chiefs r the only team with a bye and that puts the other top tier teams at a disadvantage. Steelers and Bills have nothing to play for and this is their only time to get some rest.

I am shocked that the Steelers don't want the No. 2 seed more. If the Steelers finish as the 3 seed & the Ravens win, it's Steelers vs Ravens.

I would avoid the Ravens at all costs. They are coming together at the perfect time.

Last I read Bills will play everybody with the intent of getting 2 seed

It's not about other teams trying to help the Colts or anything, but these are professional athletes and there is a such thing as pride - after the tongue lashing that JJ Watt gave his team this week, do you think he's gonna dog it, or let any of his teammates?

Even the Jaguars, who have already secured the #1 pick show an interest in beating us this weekend, and eliminating us from postseason contention - either way, they have the top pick in April but with that in mind, 2-14 and knocking us out of the playoffs is preferable than 1-15, that 1 being in the 1st game and then losing 15 straight, while watching us avenge that Week 1 loss and play the following weekend, while most of the league is golfing.

I think Ravens dont match up with the Steelers. We should find out more as the week moves along

What? I get fans are a big home advantage but so is playing in your arena, your routine.

Buffalo hasn’t been a contender for a very long time. I would assume the coach and management want to give that fan base as many home games as possible. Bills Mafia still tailgates even though they aren’t allowed inside.

    • Yeah... Richardson needs players who can separate and who can get open deep. IMO "give the inaccurate QB a contested catch receiver with large catch radius" is one of the tropes that hasn't proven to work well. Contested catches have about 50-55% success rate even with the best of contested catch receivers and with relatively accurate QBs... now if you think AR's accuracy is not good, drop that rate even more. The best way to give a relatively inaccurate QB better chance to complete passes is to give him a WR who separates and and who is open so the QB would have more of a margin for error to throw the ball a little behind or ahead or a little higher or lower than ideal. (we are not talking about uncatchable balls here... those will be uncatchable for anyone really). In that regard, one thing I would agree about is - we need WRs who have good hands and have good ball skills.   And this is ignoring that AR has indeed been pretty good with his accuracy on passes at intermediate and long range. His biggest problem coming into the league was the short stuff and he was already showing improvements in that deparment before he got injured.    And Worthy is the WR who created the most separation from anybody in this draft :
    • Richardson  accuracy  on deep balls is his strength.  Hence why you pair an elite deep threat in worthy.
    • No.   You weren’t.   If you were the least bit sincere, we’d be having these conversations in private.  But you’ve repeatedly ignored my efforts to do that.  Your call.      Then you avoid me until I’m in an uncomfortable conversation with another poster.   You use that awkward moment as an excuse for you to come in with some sincere friendly advice.   The problem is, you’re neither sincere, nor friendly.  And you’ve been doing this for months now.  This is not new.   The pattern is clear and obvious.     And the shame of it all is that even with our different views on Ballard we have enough in common that we should be friendly.  Maybe not friends, but friendly.  You wouldn’t need to address me as “Sir.”    “Good deed going unpunished”.  You flatter yourself.     But your actions speak much louder than your words.   There’s no reason for me to trust you.  And here we are.  A real shame.
    • In a year when the Colts were in serious need of a QB and in position to draft one, Ballard came up in front of the media 3 days before the draft and straight up said something to the effect of "That guy everybody in media is talking about(Levis), we are not taking him". I don't know why you think the Colts are trying to throw us off the scent this year specifically. They are not trying to give us away the pick(thus the vagueness), but I also don't really think they are trying to mislead anybody. This usually becomes specifically apparent in retrospect after the draft when you look back at a lot of those quotes in the videos they release pre-draft... and they were talking precisely about players we ended up drafting, which they reveal in the post-draft video by extending some of those quotes(they did that with AR last year for example).    And about why people are doing it(guessing who they are talking about) - because it is fun. Nobody has the illusion that we will be right in our guesses 100% of the time... or anywhere close really... but it's still fun. And it's part of why the Colts release those videos with those quotes - to create engagement with the fanbase... part of which, and the entirety of which that 70 pages thread and whole board is about in the offseason. is to guess who the Colts might take and how they might feel about specific prospects.
