I saw this tweet and this makes total sense why it’s harder to make the playoffs in the AFC. Also shows colts really need to figure out the future at QB with all these young QB. Look how bad the NFC teams have done drafting QB.

Josh Rosen is on his 3rd NFL team in as many seasons, and Dwayne Haskins has just been unceremoniously released. Mitch Trubisky is only 26, and can be considered another "swing & miss" QB drafted by an NFC team, especially considering he was selected #2 overall, 8 picks before Patrick Mahomes and 10 picks before DeShaun Watson were taken.

There's a reason why the AFC has such good QBs...it sucked.

That wasn't the case for all these teams, KC was winning with Alex Smith when they traded up to select Mahomes, and Baltimore was about 5 years removed from winning their 2nd Superbowl when they traded with the defending Superbowl Champion Eagles to draft Lamar Jackson with the 32nd pick.

Yeah let’s not forget they had Flacco who won them a SB. Texans also moved up for Watson I believe.

Just had to paraphrase. Blake Bortles, Mariota, Weeden/Osweiler in the division and 2016-2018 basically had Brady/Belichick not challenged till Mahomes came along in 2018 to be honest.

Brady got smart and sensed the AFC teams were moving up with young QBs and the NFC still had the aging ones in Rodgers, Brees, Ryan and the NFC East drafting like AFC East of early Brady years. Brady is again in a position for success.
