Man, he must be real bad, meaning "can't grasp basic stuff of playbook bad or problem with authority bad" to be given up on so easily. I think it is the latter with him violating the Covid protocols on top of his play being bad.

He has been awful since he was drafted

I hope Ballard doesn’t consider kicking the tires on this guy.  Getting cut in the season takes a lot.  He was a first round QB and on a cheap contract.  He hasn’t been good and obviously puts his own enjoyment above his job.  A lot of people were counting on him and he has been a huge disappointment

Seems to be a week to late.

Cant believe they had him start after his Covid violating strip club incident in the first place.

The maskless stripper party seems like more of a convenient and timely excuse.  He was released because he isn’t very good.

I doubt the Chiefs or Bills would release Mahomes or Allen if they were photographed partying without a mask.

I would be shocked if the Colts even so much as make inquiries into Haskins.

When guys like him go in the second round, you know that even though these teams say they're being as serious and analytical about drafting QB's- no they're not. They're throwing darts at least half of the time.

He was the 15th pick in the first round 2019. What a bust!

Fields is the next bust too

There is a good chance the Jets trade out of that pick with a new GM and head coach, IMO. Jags get Lawrence and Fields will drop out of Top 5, IMO. He might even drop out of Top 10 to Detroit Lions.

Trey Lance and Zach Wilson might be considered ahead of Justin Fields, IMO, and should be.

Shocker of the draft - 49ers get their QB at No.12 ahead of the Patriots and Colts give up late 1st rounder for Jimmy G to 49ers with a future 2nd or 3rd from the 49ers based on incentives met (if Jimmy G does not play 12 games for us, we get a future 2nd and if he does, we get only a future 3rd). :peek:

I would much rather trade our late 1st rounder for Stafford so the Lions can trade up to 2 or 3 to get a QB.

I hope the Colts pass on all future Ohio State players.

I don't think you should generalize players.

Chase Young, candidate for DROY, Nick and Joey Bosa, and WR Michael Thomas are all from Ohio State. look at what they've accomplished.

The Ohio State players the Colts have drafted for the past 20-30 years have been underwhelming to say it kindly. I again hope they take a hard pass on them. It just hasn’t worked out for the Colts.

Seems like a maturity issue.  Hopefully he takes this to heart and turns things around

He is just immature. They probably would of worked with him if he was willing to get better and was coachable.

Bullseye. He is thinking he has it made only to find he has nothing. Young bucks come in to the NFL thinking teams will bend to keep them are the same types that blow all the money they made and wind up broke with no job skills.

I did agree at 1st about letting him play after strip club incident. I actually think they let him play to fail. He needed to have a lights put game, which we all doubted he would have. He had crap game and it was easy to then cut him. Kind of like prove us wrong, which he didnt do.

While I can definitely see that side of argument.

It was just to big of a game to play those kind of games, imo. But overall I agree with your sentiment.

I guess they still have a win and in against a team that probably doesn't have much to play for other than getting a worse draft pick. Although I don't think Hurts is to worried about that.

Not a Hurts fan. Great kid but  I was not impressed with him coming out of college. I am hoping he plays well then Philly more apt to trade Wentz. Lol

As long as it isn't to us, they can do what they want with him

I think Wentz can bounce back

If we bring him in, I will get behind him......pause, but I just don't like entertaining it as of right now. I would like to go down a lot of other paths.

    • https://www.nfl.com/news/bill-tobin-longtime-nfl-executive-dies-at-age-83   He drafted some all time great players like Harrison, and of course is famous for his verbal match with Mel Kiper. RIP!
    • Then begs the question. Do u want to say draft a MJH at 4 and turn around in 4 years or would u say draft Turner and pay him 30mill in 4 years? All day every day for the franchise rush end. I am not a big believer in 30 mill for a wr. Reid is a fantastic coach and look what he did with Hill.
    • I literally just posted that clip, it's where the conversation about QBs started.
    • Funny you brought this up.  I just listened to an interview Ballard did today with Rich Eisen.  He asked him if he has given any thought on how many quarterbacks will be taken before our pick and how many does he think.  He said sure we go through those evaluations.  It helps us with for planning purposes.  He asked him how many.  4 or 5 or 6?   He laughed out loud at 6.  He said Rich if it’s 6 we will be so excited.  Let’s hope so.  He also said the draft board is not yet set.  Won’t be until the night before the draft.  He also said he has had multiple conversations with other GM’s concerning the draft.  Preparing themselves for opportunities that could take place.  And they will continue up until the draft starts.  He said trade conversations won’t really materialize until you are within three picks of any trade.  Giving you time to finalize it.  Interesting interview.  Oh he pretty much ruled out moving up for Harrison.   Going up into the top of the draft would be very costly for him he said.  Thinks he’s a great talent but he thinks he’s pretty much out of our reach.
    • I personally wouldn’t touch Williams with a 10 foot pole. He seems like a distraction and cancerous. He may be Uber talented but I don’t feel like he is a winner, and don’t feel like his heart is in it. I think he gets the bag and just sets it on cruise control. There is absolutely nothing to base this off of aside from my gut feeling.  Maye Daniels  Penix Nix McCarthy   Maye is your prototype passer and I think his deficiencies are easily fixed with good coaching.   Daniels seems the most limited to me, proficient and will be very dependent on where he goes.    Will always have a soft spot for Penix, he throws such a pretty deep ball. His 40 time should have opened some eyes.   Nix is probably the safest pick IMO. I think he’s got the tools to fit nearly any offense. Has the athleticism, arm talent and I think he’s got the between the ears to excel in most offenses.   I see the appeal with McCarthy, he was as unselfish as they come allowing the run game to shine instead of checking to pass plays. I think his ceiling is a solid game manager.
