Colts 2 steelers 0. Houston gets safety for the win

I can't lie this is one of the only threads I hate every year or two because I have to say we're gonna lose which I hate.

The stats don't lie in this matchup, we post them whenever we play them. They could have Tolzien or Painter starting along with an entire practice squad defense and lose.

Hoping Philip bucks the trend.

24-17 that other team...

One thing for sure is this colts and Steelers offense is very similar. I think the colts might get more explosive plays though. Going to come down to can the colts protect rivers. Them missing Dupree should help. I want to see joe they play the Bengals tomorrow to get a feel for this game. Steelers should dominate but if they don’t steelers might be falling apart.

Hopefully not, but even if it is a bad weather, “ground & pound” game with limited passing, I still like our chances!

The weather forecast said it’ll be 30s and partly cloudy. Though that could change quickly lol.

Can Frank Reich call a game that can win against the Steelers? I wonder. The Colts are very capable of beating them. But their coach is very capable of finding a way to mess it up. And with the  defense’s struggles to cover the middle on pass plays, we know the game won’t be a low scoring affair. If Frank somehow magically morphs into a Bill Walsh creative play caller, the Colts win. But since this is as likely as Andrew Luck suiting up next week, I am adjusting my brain to a Steelers win. I hate that, but Frank is who he is. No one will be happier if I’m wrong. I don’t think I am.

I think I remember a Monday night game when we beat them. I think Peyton threw a bomb to Marvin on the first play.

Yeah that was a TD pass. We handled them easily that game... and then it was playoff time, 2005.

Colts laid an egg and steelers took advantage.

I heard Nance say "see you next week in Pittsburgh".

Yeah that's definitely what I heard as well. Wanted to be sure.

Glad we'll have more Colts fans being able to watch in general next week (for the radio/streaming fans).

I'm really hoping we show up, it's basically a potential playoff matchup, but in December.

Hopefully the weather isn’t too bad.

On the contrary, I hope it is terrible weather! Our run game is starting to take off with Taylor looking like he is figuring it out and Hines getting carries in better situations as well where he is less predictable.

The Steelers running game is "meh" at best right now. Give me Deforest Buckner and our D-line vs their running game all day.

    • Agreed. I noticed my mistake earlier. I knew it was Al Woods. I did not pay close enough attention to the fact it was Antwaun coming in for a visit and mistook the visit for actually being Al lol   Shoulda known better w the age and fit question marks lol
    • For what it's worth I expect this Colts team to be a top 10 team too as we have a top 5 OL (even without a LT), a top 3 RB and what I think a top 5 Defense with our first 2 picks in the 2021 draft.  I understand the negativity of Wentz as our starting QB but any qb is as good as his supporting cast and the Eagles the last 3 yrs were atrocious to say the least.  He's an MVP caliber player at the position and I believe Jonathon Taylor is about to take the league by storm, much like Henry did with the Titans as their numbers are so scary similar.  Wentz wont be asked to be a superhero like this team did with Rivers and I hope this offensive staff sees what they have in Taylor as a top 2 back in the league and a real workhorse!  I feel that this team finally has a true #1 wr in Pittman to pair with a legit #2 veteran in Hilton to go along with Pascal and a number of 6'3 6th rd + hopefuls.  I didn't even mention Parris Campbell because he is so raw he doesn't know how to protect himself from falling or contact to prevent injury.  Fool me once or twice shame on me but a 3rd time, shame on you!  Very intrigued with the Granson kid as he looks like a Darren Waller type mismatch nightmare and all I need to know is the reaction from Coach Reich that he actually got HIS GUY in this draft.  You could tell by his reaction to the pick that this was his heart and soul of the 2021 draft.  Improved Defense, Improved Offense and what were all hoping is Improved coaching in critical games could = the #1 spot in the AFC.  Just like the coaching staff, these additions need to prove themselves first before we reach all our lofty goals but I like the fact we have a legit opportunity to be #1.
    • I don’t see the future at LT.  Next year’s 2nd?
    • Rookie LTs, even the highest drafted ones usually have a pretty rough learning curve. I bet Tevi can do a good enough job on this line.   The Fisher signing could be an absolute bargain, but even if he can’t play, we should be OK.  The oline will at the least be really good.
    • 9.4 isn't too much. He was projected by most reports to get a 2 year 20M deal (10M a year). 1 year at near that figure is just strange given his injury and decent probability he won't be ready in September. I'm torn a bit on the one year duration. At the end of the day though, it's only a one year fix at best right now even if he does recover well.
