We're already top 10 in iDL spending due to Buchner, and our 3 DEs getting the most snaps this year are all FAs. We'll have to do something at DE. Banogu has shown nothing. Wouldn't be shocked if he were cut next year. Turay is still a wildcard and has only been a rush specialist thus far, and is coming back from injury. Lewis is a tweener.

It's also not really a given that we won't have any issues paying Nelson, Smith, and Leonard. We're top 2 in OL spending now. Q will set the market for LG. He'll get LT money. We also have to replace AC in the next two years. Smith will get top 10 money. That's your top 3 OL all getting big dollars (or being replaced) when you're already top 2 in spending.

I don't think it's a given he'll be back. NTs are devalued in the league. We're paying a load for Buchner already, and our top 3 DEs in snaps are FAs. If Stewart plays hardball, I can see Ballard walking. Hope it works out.

I Personally don't care about determining where you spend your money based on position. Every team is different. I've got no problem paying Nelson and Smith top 10 money. I think we'll probably draft AC's replacement this draft. Like I said, I think Autry will walk as we won't choose to pay him and we'll probably keep Houston. Then you can keep 3/4s of the DL together and rotate the other end until someone steps up and takes it, I don't think it's as big a problem as you're making it.

I think they expect Lewis to replace Autry.

All teams have different spending situations, sure. It's relevant however if your forecasting the future. It's also relevant that we're already near the top in OL spending, and have yet to pay arguably our two best OL. It's also very relevant when you're top 3 DEs are all FAs.

More money in one place, means less money in others. As long as we draft well (which we really haven't at DE) in places, it offsets. We'll see, but it's short sighted not be cognizant of the challenges. We simply have a lot of big contracts coming due at key positions in the next two years.
