Luck Was Calling His Own Plays This Year

Not exactly. Manning isn't in the same class as Marino. Manning actually won a ring and CARRIED his team. Marino always carried his team but was never able to carry to a championship. Brady and Montana had insanely good teams for a period of time.

I agree here..

..why arnt Mannng and Elway considered the equal of Montana? Its as if 3 titles makes you greater than 2 or 1 and , in team sport, it doesnt

and Elway and Manninbg did not have the teams around them that Joe Montana did

You are exactly right. Elway actually played in more SB's than Montana but you pose an point in how people still view Montana as better.

And of the three, Peyton is the only one who's entire career was during the salary cap era. The 49ers and cowboys loaded up in those days. To me that is what makes the Pats and the hoodie so impressive.

I dont really buy into that being the reason for all of their success. They went undeafted the following season.

Lol I don't believe it was the sole reason but I believe it easily could of contributed just enough to give them a competitive advantage in games. If you know exactly what a team's audibles are, you can change your defense to play it perfectly.

I agree with that as well... They have lost some close games in big spots since..

I went to that card show on saturday I posted about earlier and met RG3. My dad asked him if he knew he was going to be a Redskin ofcourse he gave the political answer and said no but he smiled and gave us a wink. Also a guy in front of me had a colts helmet to get signed his agent said he would not be signing any memorabilia other than Baylor and Redskins items. I know alot of people don't want the Colts to draft him but he has an aura about him I can't explain it and he was super nice he dapped me up thanked me for coming he even stayed 2 hours past to sign everyones stuff. Im gonna attach a picture so you guys dont think I'm B.S.'ing you when I get off work today. I also tweeted Dan Graham @coltsinsider I asked him to give a percentage of the Colts drafting Luck here was his tweet back to me.

Dan Graham@coltsinsider

@PeachOmania 100% #Colts are taking Andrew Luck with the 1st overall pick in the #NFL Draft.

Sweet, sounds like it's a for sure that he will be a Redskin and Colts will get Luck, especially after RG3 declining to do a private workout with the Colts. I think Luck fits the Colts and RG3 fits the Redskins system better. It will work out great for both organizations, RG3 sounds like a nice guy and he's a great football player, I just think a lot of fans were "ok" with us cutting Manning because of Luck, not because of RG3. It would be detrimental to the fans if we picked RG, just saying. I'm just happy that we are the ones getting Luck.

    • Yep. He must of woke up Thursday with it. I assume Pinter will play center if he can’t go. That tackle slot is worrisome if smith can’t go. The defense is looking ridiculously banged up.
    • QB is hard.  It's easy to sit back and expect guys to look like Marino but every QB has a different ceiling and a different path to that ceiling.  And again getting there is a long and tough road and the toughness in that road includes everything from injuries to quality of the team around them.   Richardson still looks like the guy we saw on tape in college.  He is an elite run threat who can put the ball anywhere on the field, but his consistency in ball placement is not good.  I used to believe that can't be fixed.  Until Josh Allen.  Now these types of QBs are guys teams will take a flyer on, because of supply and demand, and the immense impact if you can hit on one of them.  But here we are and he's still the same QB, which is a bit of a concern to me at this point.   It's not like he doesn't still have time to get his game in order.  He does.  And even if he fails in Indy he'll have another chance with another team due to his talent level.  So it's still too early to get all crazy about where he's at.   For myself I'll say what I keep saying about him: he needs to learn to move the offense from the protection of the pocket.  That is how you have a long career and end up in the Hall with a million passing yards.  If he does not develop that part of his game the end result will be his teams will use his legs to move the offense and he'll get hurt and miss time and demonstrate why RBs have such a short shelf life.  So his career is in his hands.  He has to learn and do it or he'll suffer the results.
    • I wonder how Kelly got his neck injury he seemed fine and even practiced on Wednesday right,
    • Seems like every time the Colts face the Steelers the OL gets injured smh.
    • Through three games, Richardson is tied for sixth among QBs with 18 rushing attempts (6.0 per game). That's about half of the rushing attempts of league leaders Jayden Daniels, Lamar Jackson, and Jalen Hurts. https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/nfl-qb-rushing-yards-leaders-2024
