Bengals @ Colts Game Day Thread, October 18, 2020, 1:00pm ET

Your Indianapolis Colts (3-2) look to return to winning ways when they face the Cincinnati Bengals (1-3-1) at home this Sunday. They will play this one without TE Mo Alie-Cox (Out), T Chaz Green (Out), and LB Darius Leonard (doubtful). Anthony Castonzo is questionable.  The Bengals list only two players on their injured list:

Auden Tate (Doubtful) and Mackensie Alexander (Questionable).

The Bengals pass defense is surprisingly strong but the run defense is among the worst in the league. Expect the Colts to run the ball. The Colts defense will try to stop the #1 overall pick in Joe Burrow. It should be a fun game to watch. Good luck!  :cheer:

Ways to watch and listen to Colts games

Keeping a player down when a team is running hurry up is unsportsmanlike conduct refs,  you’ve called every tricky tack call you can make against the Colts call the obvious ones on the bengals please.

Ahh Blackmon... fast becoming a gamechanger

Expecting a career day from Johnathan Taylor today.

I am hopeful.  This could be a day we see if JT can be a workhorse.  Run him hard and then go into the bye week to rest him.

And please, please, please, use that to set up play action.

Not really when you figure in Church and lunch

I wish I could get back to 12pm game start times. Those were the good ol days.

Not a fan of time chance.

Inactives:

TE Mo Alie-Cox
DE Ron'Dell Carter
QB Jacob Eason
WR Daurice Fountain
OG Chaz Green
LB Darius Leonard
WR Dezmon Patmon

Sucks Leonard is out, but this should probably be it, with a bye next week.

That will give him a nice little 4 week recovery period.

Nice to have AC back in the lineup.

Try growing up on the Time Zone

My Grandmother had her clocks set on both times and since PCHS plays in a conference that is split by the timeline every game is early

why arefountain and carter inactive .   fountain is the 3rd best wr left since pittman and cambell are out.   Houston and autry are really banged up to have only mohamad and ben as the defensive ends could be bad news .  I hope houston and autry dont leave the game

Also, why is Patmon incactive again if Fountain is inactive? Who makes these decisions? Reich or Ballard? Patmon is getting the raw end of the deal as well. He can't start if Pittman and Campbell are hurt and Fountain is inactive? Not only that, Eason is inactive again? I agree on Carter as well. No point in claiming him off waivers if you're not going to use him.

The difference in run game between last year and this year is patience .  last year in tons of games the colts were getting stuffed in the first half of games , and they just stuck with the run .  Then in the second half the colts run game took over .  IT seems this year the colts give up on the run game if it does not work early , and throw more with rivers .

Wonder where we use Harris, he can play slot wr as well as halfback, we may see him in both spots a bit today. I agree Taylor has a big day, Burton may as well.

It is kinda curious that Harris got the active tag over Fountain and Patmon.

Saw Wilkins was questionable coming in as well. So that should give Taylor more looks as well, hopefully.

I want 20+ carries for Taylor today.

when did the colts get him i thought i knew every single player on the colts 53 man roster . never even heard about him. is he a running back?

He is a RB/WR hybrid. I forgot most of what I knew about him. But he had a good backstory and I remember I really liked him when we signed him in April.

Surprised they didn’t use the Harris call up on one of the PS RBs

Don't be surprised if Harris steals 10 carries from Taylor today. From what I remember about him, I believe he has 4.3-4.4 speed. Just a hunch if they are calling him up.

    • When I saw PM, my first thought was "Pat McAfee for HOF?" lol
    • It’s very hard to tell if you’re being deliberately argumentative or not?   But there are a long serious of falsehoods stated in your post.   1.)   It isn’t Ballard who removes a player from the board like Sweat for medical reasons.  At this level its typically the team doctor and the owner.     2.)  It wasn’t a “few teams” that removed Sweat from their board.  He was a top-10 kid at a premium position.   So 16 other teams removed him.  If you think he was a top-16 kid, then 10 other teams removed him.  That’s more than “a few”.   3.)  Where’s the “misevaluation”?   You didn’t explain that.  If he’s off the board, he’s off the board.  He wasn’t removed for talent,  he was removed for health.  How is that a misevaluation?   4.)  How do you know they “got it wrong with Sweat”?    Do you know what will happen with him tomorrow, next month, next year, the year after?   Of course not.  It’s the call of the doctor and the owner.  Even if he has a 10-year great career, it’s not a misevaluation. Doctors aren’t always right.   5.)  The medical misevaluation you mentioned was the position of Sweat’s camp.  But it looks like most teams did not accept that.  They took Sweat off their boards as the Colts did.  And that came from multiple doctors at the combine and then agreed with by a long list of team doctors who removed him from consideration.    6.)  The Colts “Next Pick” series is a courtesy to the fans from the team.  It is not a documentary done by a neutral third party.  They might show 10-20 seconds about any given decision.  A decision that might have involved 5 minutes of negotiations, possibly even more.  The Colts are not showing you EVERYTHING.  You’re just getting a small slice.   And they’re not going to include anything negative about a player.  That’s clearly not the Colts way.   7.)  The call from Wash was likely one of several calls where terms of the deal are negotiated.  There were likely calls made days ahead of the draft to gauge interest.  Then one during the first round to see if Wash is still interested.   Then the final call to officially consummate the deal.  Again, you’re just making a series of giant assumptions based on tiny bits of information.    Ask yourself this....   why would a man like Chris Ballard,  who clearly values pass rush, take a pass on a top pass rushing defensive end?   Wouldn’t you think he’d have to have a darn good reason?   He made the best of an unfortunate situation.   You’re badly over-thinking this because you don’t like the decision.
    • Villanueva would be my second option, but TW is better, hope it happens.
    • Yeah, IDK. All the predictions I've seen the last week or so has him coming back.
    • Agreed, did you watch the video of Chappell making his case? If not, you should, and I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it.
