By far my all-time favorite RB - Walter Payton.

But I'm biased. I met Sweetness at his Roundhouse restaurant in Aurora, IL in late '98. I was the only football fan at a table of colleages in town for some computer training, but he stopped by our table and chatted with us for about 10 minutes. I have to assume he tried to do the same for every table in the place.

I was never a Bears fan (still not), but had appreciated watching Payton play. After meeting him, I was left with the impression that he was an incredible person and a gentle soul, in addition to being an amazing player. I was truly devastated to learn of his illness just a couple months later, and was heartbroken when he died.
