How do you think we keep Taylor if we're paying Lamar $50m/year? And I don't really agree with the premise, by the way. Lamar as a weapon is based in large part on his running ability. We have not seen him produce without being a rushing threat. If you pair him with JT, it's probably JT's rushing production that suffers, not Lamar's.

I could see that as well. Ballard and company will see how the draft plays out, and if they get the guy they want at QB, then obviously they won't be pursuing hard on Lamar. If the draft doesn't play out in their favor, then they will look to possibly offer up a future 1st or so for Lamar. That's probably the smart way to handle it anyways, as I would think they would rather give up a later 1st with Lamar on the team, than the 4th overall pick. -

If he ever gets that guaranteed money... don't blink. He will be long gone. -
While I agree, it is stupid to not have deployed an Agent from the start for the aforementioned reasons, I think it is still yet to be seen that it's too late for him to make up for what he has already lost. The next few months will tell. Either he gets what he is asking for (or closer to it, from either Baltimore or another team) and thus making up for past financial gain- or he gambles on himself, plays on the tag, and we go through the same song and dance next year. He either proves to the league he is worth the money, or wishes he took the bag from the Ravens while he had the chance.

Another thing many have not brought up is, getting a QB like Lamar would pump up the whole team. They would know that would give them a chance at winning something big. It would change the whole atmosphere of that locker room. I try and think of everything. If I was a defensive player on that team and we got Lamar, I would celebrate knowing we don't have to get stops everytime and our offense always would give us a chance. Taylor would be in hog heaven on offense so would Pittman.
