I know many might not agree but why not bring in Dak Prescott? In my opinion, if the Cowboys wanted to sign him long term they would've this past offseason. Ballard will have the cap space to sign him to a long term deal. The question is how much? I know many of people suggested Stafford or Wentz. But don't guys haven't stayed on the field recently. His playoff record is a small sample size and that 1-2 record could've been because of a multitude of things. I'm not going to put it all on Dak. Here are my reasons for Ballard to consider signing him.

1. He stays on the field: He's started all 16 games in his career

2. He wins: 41-25 career record since he came into the league.

3. A career 65% completion percentage. Working with Frank and this coaching staff that number would go up to 70%

4. He is mobile: We're seeing a transition in the Quarterback position. Most of the great Quarterbacks in this league Mahomes, Watson, Lamar, etc are mobile. Dak is very mobile, gets out of the pocket, and throws on the run.

no, if he was worth what he is asking the cowboys would give it to him

Jerry Jones has often taken the approach that his top players should take a little less because they are going to make a lot of extra money off the field.    Playing in Dallas has its perks.   Plus, no state taxes.

So it’s not that Jones doesn’t think that Prescott is worth it...   it’s that he thinks Prescott should realize the full value of being the QB of America’s Team and the extra benefits that brings....

Prescott has reportedly turned down $40 mill per from Dallas.

Are you ready to pay him more than that?   4/180?   5/225?

I don’t see Irsay or Ballard wanting to go down that road,  and I think Prescott is very good.

He's not worth that but I would give him 30m per

If he’s turning down 40M a year from Dallas where there is no state tax, he’s not coming to Indiana for 10 mill a year less plus having to pay state tax there.

He’d hang up on that offer.

I am not sure him turning down a contract for Dallas is a money/tax issue?

There might just be a couple of other reasons besides money.

IMO not everyone likes Jerry Jones.

Maybe he hates the traffic?

3 playoff seasons in the last ten years?

Plus it's the Dallas Cowboys? :dunno:

That’s all speculation.   I have not read that anywhere.   The sticking point appears to be money.

It could be argued he’s on a better team in Dallas than he would be in Indy.

Dallas will sign him before next season.

Dak was smartly waiting for Mahomes and Watson to set the market.

I don't think this is out of the question nor should it be compared to what options we may or may not have. Several articles over last few days claiming Colts and Bears top destinations for him. No confirmed interests.

Right now - prior to the injury - he was a Steve Young compared to Old Man Rivers.
