Outside of QB Your Top 5 or 6 Best Skilled Position Players Over the Years

Whenever a "Ballard is a genius" threads pop up, it compels me to take a look back over the Grigson years and into the Polian years.  Not a GM comparison or fodder for debate , just an overall look of the landscape from where we've been, what we've been through, and where we are over about the past 20 years.  Got me thinking about the depth/talent at the skilled positions the Colts have had and I immediately began to rank my top 5 or 6 at RB, WR, and TE over the years.  Going back to no specific year, just a time well into the Polian or Manning Years.

My ranking is not stat based, since stat accumulation can be about many factors.  Its about overall competence in many aspects of their position when watching them play. While not stat based, my overall sense of their production over their tenure is a factor, not just talent. Injuries play a part, but I'm ranking them based upon all around skill and talent aside from injury problems.  What's your rankings?

RBs:

Edgerrin James

Vic Ballard

Ahmad Bradshaw

Joe Addai

Frank Gore

Dominic Rhodes

Marlon Mack

TE:

Dallas Clark

Jack Doyle

Coby Fleener/Dwayne Allen (Tie)

Eric Ebron

WRs:

Marvin

Reggie

TY

Hmmm, I'm stuck.  Not kidding. (Maybe Stokely or Collie?)

    • He also brought Harbaugh to the Colts. He might've drafted him, since he was the Bears GM before he was ours. Sad news
    • I wouldn't be mad if Ballard traded up to pick Bowers. He is a game breaker TE. With Woods still being an unknown it would be a smart move imo.  Just imagine having both Bowers and Woods on the field at the same time? Mercy lol
    • For what it’s worth….   This is the short version of the interview.  About 4:30.       Later in the day,  Eisen posted the longer version, the full interview.   It’s roughly 11 min long.    I’d post it if I could.
    • I'm going to try this again this year, I think I got last place last year.    We will trade down, because Bowers or Nabors won't be there at 15.     Round 1: a-Jackson Powers Johnson, g/c Oregon(I'm sticking with my mock draft)                     b-Brian Thomas Jr., wr LSU                      c-Taliese Fuaga, t/g Oregon St.      Round 2: a-Junior Colson, lb Michigan                      b-Edgeron Cooper, lb Texas A&M                      c-Jaden Hicks, s Washington St.      Round 3: a- Marshawn Kneeland, de Western Michigan                       b-Kamari Lassiter, cb Georgia                       c-Jarvis Brownlee, cb Louisville       Round 4: a-Jamari Thrash, wr Louisville                       b-Beau Brade, s Maryland                       c-Jaden Crumedy, dl Mississippi St.       Round 5: a-Willie Drew, cb Virginia St.                        b-Jowon Briggs, dt Cinncinati                        c-Luke Mccafrey, wr Rice        Round 6: a-Dwight McGlothern, cb Arkansas                         b-C.J.
