I wonder if he was trying to see if there was anymore interest. We had 7 dressed Sunday we could add him without putting fountain back on the PS.

Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking. He was trying to find a job on someones 53.

I thought originally he'd stand a good chance for PS spot, but IIRC was a bit banged up in camp.

Glad he's back, if he is back.

I still want to see Fountain and Dulin get a shot at snaps over MJ. We know exactly what MJ brings, and I think we need to see DF and Dulin in some action. We already know Dulin brings great ST upside.

I hope Reich removes Hines from returning punts.   We have allot of capable WR's who could handle those duties.

Why would you remove a weapon  like that on punts. Hines might get some work in the slot with Paris injury. Nick said today Zach would be moved to the slot but it will be s collective effort.

I'm just thinking of injuries.   We are thin at RB.

I also think we'll see Hines catching more balls out of the backfield and would hate to lose him.

I disagree.

We've seen Hines have a ton of touches on offense in Week 1 and none in Week 2, so his need to contribute to the offense isn't going to be as consistently high as TY, Pittman, JT, etc.  He's definitely a playmaker for us on offense, but part of his strength is in the PR game and I don't think it makes sense to pull him out of the position that he's arguably most dangerous.

Just a solid PR can affect field position and a dynamic one can completely flip the field.

The fact he couldn't even stick to the PS initially though is a bit concerning.

Tough to know the circumstances. I too thought once he was cut he would of been added to PS. Maybe he tried to get some run on a teams main roster.?

Either way I'm not to concerned about it, because even if the team didnt elect to bring him back over a couple other guys, that doesn't take a way from his ability. Mainly means that our depth ahead of him is  better and we're still fortunate to be able to bring him and his experience with us back and improve our depth even more.

Like I said, like him, and happy he is back. He was obviously one of the last cut.

I do want to see guys like Dulin, Fountain, and Patmon get a shot at reps though, before bringing anyone else up from the PS.

They definitely should get the shots first.

Johnson just a really good fall back option.

I have a feeling that he wanted a active roster spot somewhere and/or a older PS WR wasn’t needed

I was surprised when Matt Taylor said Dublin might be the fastest guy on the team.

Mixing snaps with  Dulin and Pascal could offset the Campbell loss.  Different players, but Dulin may offer the big play potential that Campbell brought.
Pascal, Dulin, Fountain, Johnson, and Patmon.  There is potential there.  We just really need them, and Pittman to develop quickly.

But i like the potential.

He's about as good as you can get for the PS. I love the new rules that allow a few players with unlimited years.

The new PS rules make a ton of sense. I suspect some variation will be retained once the NFL world returns to “normal”.

I hope so. Always hated the accrued years rule. Don't get me wrong, I like the PS as a means for development of young guys, but if you're also going to use the PS to augment the team, should be able to keep vets too.
