I really hope they land on a good name next year but I can't help but laugh when I hear:

What a solid effort by Football Team!

1st Down Football Team!

Sack and Football Team has the football!

I just call them Washington, as I would say Green Bay or New England. I don't say the Green Bay team. I just say Green Bay.

I remember reading they may just stick with the name they have now. We'll see.

I hope they do.   This is what I wanted when they first caved to the pressure.

Could they get away with:

The Skins

The Pigskins

In some ways it has grown on me.  Sounds “old-timey.”

”The Washington Football Team.”

It puts the emphasis on the home location.... Washington.

There’s actually probably a unique marketing angle that could be inventive, progressive, and refreshing........: thenagain, its Dan Snyder.

I actually like it to.

I do know they will sell a lot of extra merch.

Sell remaining on old merch(cause some will want to buy it for nostalgia)

Sell The Football Team merch(season or 2)

Then change to new name and sell that merch, everyone will want to get the Football Team Merch then for nostalgia.

Major money making going on.

Honestly in Europe most teams don't have mascots or anything like that.  They just call themselves things like Chelsea FC.  (FC standing for Football Club)

I think if Washington just started calling themselves "Washington FC or Washington AFC (for American Football Club) it would be cool.  I am guessing they will come up with a team name though.

It’s gonna be strange & uncomfortable if and when Washington brings in some of it’s Hall of Fame players or other historical greats like Joe Theismann, Doug Williams or John Riggins for accolades, but expects them to embrace the new team name or deny the one they achieved their fame under.

I think that the false news channel like "CNN and others have created  a must comply with leftest democrat's  view

on how to comply on peoples right to disagree. They want you to feel that you  have no opinion on the matter. and if you don't agree then you are a bigot

Only a long term bigot would insist on keeping the racist name. If he owned a baseball a team in the old Negro Baseball League what would his team be named?

Tell that to the American Indian Nation.

Typical hog wash that our society as decided out of the blue that the past is bad no more statues of the founding

fathers, and if it is not presented in a positive past then we should destroy that past history part. because it's offensive

I call it selective history to heaven forbid not embarrass anyone about what the past history was.  What's next ?

there was no Roman Empire or Spanish inquisition, or  American revaluation ,  or world war 1 or 2?, because we ended world war 2  by the atomic bomb? Or they were not Hebrews in Mosses time that were slaves' in bondage.  Every race, even the  so called White race  were at some point slaves or in bondage to the society at some point in history . so my point every Race , religious belief, etc.,,, were in bondage at some point in time. So do we just wipe all of this out of history? or do we learn from our mistakes of the past  and move on.

King Colt , I resent  your bigot implications because number one you don't know me , and I doubt very much you are of American heritage.  So unless you speak for the  American Indians, that by the way have a much better case for why they are not the  minority , since this is their land  then all races should just give them back that what were there's' I would not have any trouble in complying to them Would You?

Pretty sure he was talking about the original Redskins owner and not you.

Either way lets clean it up in here. Not even to sure the thread needs to stay open.? It just invites back and forth that is toeing the line.

I don't need a weatherman to tell me it's raining. I don't speak for any race rather against racism.

I think they had a few names in mind I do wonder what they end up being 2021.

Part of me thinks that Snyder just might be playing a waiting game before he goes back to Redskins.  How long does this really take to find a name?

NBA commissioner said that they will not have any of that social messaging in their unis and games next season.  Sort of addressed the issue when the iron was hot, but now going back to simply playing basketball.

I don't think Snyder will do that, but I would not be entirely surprised if it happened.

    • I haven’t read what has been said so far in this thread at all.  But I said it before forgot which thread.  I said we go yard after Jordan Love if the Packers decide to stick with Rodgers for a lot longer then anticipated depending on how he performed this season etc..  Then I suggested if Packers front office and coaches don’t like what they’ve seen or if Rodgers doesn’t like what’s going on in Greenbay and wants to get out.  I didn’t exactly say it that way but that’s what I meant lol.  I’ve even said I know this is a pipe dream and other users have replied to me saying I play too much Madden video game.  Well it seems like Rodgers want out after what happened in that NFC title game.  I know again it’s a pipe dream and maybe Rodgers is just mad and like any normal human being is just venting out.  After all is said and done Rodgers and the Packers may just work it out and move on.  But I’m praying I’m wishing if I had the extra cash I would probably even go buy a lamp just to run on it and make  wish to my genie that really doesn’t exist.  But please please somehow Ballard please get us AARON RODGERS please Ballard PLEASE!!!!    I know he is 38 years old but by the way I see him playing I can see him easily giving us the Colts a great prime peak performance for 5 years.  Within that 5 years it’ll cost us a lot of capital like draft picks and salary cap etc..  But I think we will still be able to say after 2 to 3 years we can then draft a QB to learn from Rodgers.  By then I don’t think Rodgers would be mad if we drafted a replacement.  We would instantly become a SB contender for the next 5 years!  I just think this trade/move would be great for the Colts I don’t think we would be in salary cap hell or draft picks wise we would also be okay.  We wouldn’t have to go full rebuild mode after Rodgers is retired or too old to play etc...  The Colts would be in a great transition to a new QB/era after Aaron Rodgers.  I just think it makes sense and but also not salary cap but the main issue is what would it cost the Colts to get Aaron here is what it boils down too.  Let me take that back it can destroy the Colts for years and years if we given up way way too much draft pick wise.  So yeah let me calm down and relax and think bigger picture before the pipe dream!!
    • What makes you say this? He is viewed as a top 10 DE and a 2nd round prospect from what I have seen. What are you claiming?
    • I'm 35. I wouldn't say age is the issue here.   To the bolded, you're being pessimistic and despondent for the sake of it. We have what is considered to be one of the best GM's and FO's in the NFL, and as fans that know a sliver of what they know, we should trust our FO to make the right hiring decisions.   That's awesome and everything, but your overall analogy just doesn't make sense. You're saying that having success in coaching in the CFL is equivalent to your success as a child Pokemon TCG champion, with regards to projecting success in the NFL. The fundamental issue here is that one involves skill sets and experience that directly relate to a job at the NFL level (hint: it's not Pokemon). There's some differences in the CFL game, but overall, someone that has proven to be a great offensive mind in the CFL still brings those strong skillsets to the NFL. Please don't bring these false equivalencies into the discussion just because you don't recognize a coaching staff hire and haven't shown the ability to understand what constitutes relevant experience and what doesn't.   One phrase to think about: Circle of Control   As fans, we have ZERO control over the coaches and players that leave. People have their own ways of understanding and rationalizing events that occur. Not everyone will emote them the same way and you can't expect them to. I was REALLY gutted when Sirianni was hired away, because he was one of my favorite coaches on the staff, but I understand that there's only 32 HC jobs and it's rare to be offered one of those positions. He was doing what was best for him and while I was disappointed to lose him, my response isn't going to be to come on here and rain down doom and gloom.   Please don't take others not responding in the manner you do as a sign that nobody else cares as much as you do. That's extremely egotistical and presumptive of you and quite disrespectful to the fanbase as a whole, but specifically to the thousands of fans that actively post and participate on this forum.   You may consider yourself to be the measuring stick for how fans should react, but honestly, you tend to be an outlier on the overreaction/pessimistic side of the spectrum, not the mean.
    • Yea, you keep doing you buddy...   Maybe Jordan has learned how to throw into a net by now...
