Vikings Week: Need Your Questions For The Colts Mailbag

Do we trust too much in analytics at times in lieu of football acumen.  Meaning, positive outcome likely 'says the data' to go for it on 4th and goal but wisdom says take the points on the road.  Where's the intersection of wisdom and data?  Week one on the road, rookie kicker gets an easy rep, two score lead, put a little panic in the opponent...thought that was a no-brainer.  Easy to second guess as well, I know there's a role for data to play but it seems like we are hueing towards an over reliance on analytics.  Would enjoy hearing those thoughts.  In Frank we trust!

Will we trust our first draft pick of 2020 in the red zone this game and target him in the end zone or should we expect more power 4th down plays featuring our 170 pound receiving back?

Okay.. too snarky. How about:

Can we expect to see our top WR pick more involved in the passing game this week?

According to an article by Kevin Bowen this week, the Colts in 2018 and 2019 were the first team in NFL history to allow opposing quarterbacks to complete at least 70 percent of their passes in consecutive seasons. Given the 19-of-20 passing performance by Gardner Minshew to open 2020, how do the Colts plans to address this problem? Why is this happening and what can be done?

Do you think the Colts were over confident going into the Jacksonville game and if so, could it be a good thing going forward to not underestimate their opponent ?

I have noticed when the fans are touting them, they wind up losing. In games where they're the clear favorite, they struggle. Why?

Philip Rivers has not played well against defenses coached by Mike Zimmer. Last year, he threw 3 interceptions and had a lost fumble in a 39-10 Vikings win against the Chargers.

Drew Mahowald writes, "This isn’t just about his team getting the best of Rivers’ team, however. In each game, Zimmer has limited Rivers’ efficiency as a passer, and it has had a direct impact on the result of the game.Link

Rivers is now with a new team. How will the Colts offense help Rivers play better against the Zimmer defense?
