I agree. I think Rivers was just a name to try to see season tix which is ironic given there are no fans this season. Time to go back into the QB pool and try to find THE guy.

I don't think that was it at all.   I think it was because they thought the team was ready to win now and Rivers was better than Brissett and also had experience in the Reich system.

I believe Brees set some kind of record last year going 30 for 31 against our defense.  And now Minshew goes something like 19 for 20.  Minshew of all guys.  What gives with this defense.  Some changeover in personnel and similar result.  Our scheme and players are not getting the job done.  Pretty pathetic start for the defense.  How can you not be worried when we start facing better QB's and better teams.  First game but Still......

That is head in the clouds if they thought that. The team is no where near championship level.

IMO, the most surprising thing was the lack of pass rush or any type of pressure at all from the DL. That was supposed to be our biggest strength.

It was surprising.   Not sure it was supposed to be our biggest strength.   Maybe you meant to say biggest improvement.

Let me see if I understand this. We upgrade our qb, upgrade our runningbacks(though losing Mack now hurts), upgrade our defensive line and secondary. And we still lose to the Jags?????????????? The more things change the more they stay the same. Life in the nfl I guess.
