Sounds like he made bad football decisions about OBrien and Watkins. If that's the basis of Watson wanting out, that's understandable. Not sure Watson has mentioned that. That other stuff is drama that gets elevated for other things. If Easterby is viewed as a "try hard", big deal. That's probably an accurate perception, and rather benign. That, combined with his football decisions shows that he probably not bright enough to handle his job. Again, if the guy is an incompetent person, that would be a reason to want to leave. Haven't heard of that being the reason. The reason stated was more narrow. And the stuff about McNair saying the prisoners running the prison is a non issue. Always was. If someone is bothered by it then they would have to be the one holding the warped view of associating black players with prisoners, I assume that was the context why that statement got criticized. Its a fairly common expression, and it does not have a racial context, until someone pretends that it does.

when I think Ballard might trade down in a given draft, I look for teams with multiple later round picks. IIRC this year the Jets have 2 Round 3 picks as well as 2 in Round Five. The picks are now #66 & #87, and #130 & #138 (but I think New England also had to forfeit a 3rd round pick, so some of those numbers may be off by one spot). That's why if I were Ballard and the Jets hypothetically wanted #21 (maybe they wouldn't, given that they already have 2 first round picks) I'd ask for #34 and #66 in return, and if Douglass wouldn't agree to that, I'd ask for #34, #87 and #130. IIRC Minnesota, Washington, Detroit and Cleveland also now have multiple 3rd round picks.

Like Cato June, Brackett and Sanders with Bethea over the top of them......could be why they have interest in Jacoby Stevens? Newer publications say he is playing at around 215 lbs now instead of 230.....could work!

I’m not that old so 2005 team was the best in my lifetime. If only that corner cut to the sideline ugh. I’ll never get over that game.

This up coming draft is chocked full of great talent. I expect Ballard will find at least a couple of great players.
