He thought about opting out did research made a informed decision . Why is this news again?

Just another reason for a poster that feels the need to tell everyone they are done with the NFL,  but feel the need to post on NFL message board to tell us.

Like Mike Curtis, he posted long post in Misc forum on July 22nd saying he was done for a year, yet he was on here on Saturday.

Good. That makes two of us.  I'm done with the divisive NFL.

Yes because how dare someone put his well being ahead of your entertainment.

With that said the only thing I saw was that he thought about it did research and decided not too.

AC is not — repeat NOT — opting out.  He only said he considered it.  Do you know who else likely considered it?

EVERY SINGLE PLAYER IN THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE!!

Hello?   The virus can kill you.  It can make you badly sick.  You can then give it to family members and teammates.  Anybody in their right mind would at least consider opting out.  And you would too if you were a player.  It’s logical and reasonable to at least consider it.

Can we please stop with the ridiculous outrage over this?

Interesting that you would use the word divisive.

Because what the NFL is trying to be is more INCLUSIVE.   The NFL now views how they handled player protests back in 16 and 17 as divisive.   They’re trying to reach a broader audience, a bigger slice of the pie.  And they’re trying to be fairer to their players who want to be socially active just like the NBA players are.

Sorry you don’t want to be a part of it.

Thank you for saying this. My parents had it for two months and it brought them down like a ton of bricks. I also had very mild symptoms of it and I'm lucky I have a high immune system because I could feel it. It just had very little effect on me. Don't blame Anthony one bit or anyone else that wants to opt out.

Again, thank you for posting this. People need to realize some of these guys have families and children they need to protect.

So sorry your parents had it so bad.  That must have been scary as Hell.  So glad they’ve pulled through.   And I’m thankful your case was so mild.  Three cases in one family?   Wow, that would get anyone’s attention.

As for players....   I wouldn’t blame anyone for opting out.   And I’m expecting that at least one of our players will.  Just the Law of Large Numbers.  I’d obviously be thrilled if we can manage to stay clean, I just don’t see how that’s possible....

I appreciate it. It definitely took us by surprise. We were at the casino when it happened. I believe my mom caught it at the slots and gave it to my dad. They felt sick and I decided to take the bus home since they drove that day. We haven't gone since and that's when I started wearing a mask to places like the flea market and the grocery store (though it is required as of a couple weeks ago here now).

I was looking at the opt out tracker right before I saw this thread, and there are 10 teams (including the Colts) that have had no opt-outs to this point. We are lucky so far, part of it probably being because our team is so young. It'll be a bit of fan luck if no big names opt-out for us. As you said though, if they do, we can't blame them and need to respect their decision.
