LOL Devin Funchess.

Yeah, when I saw the news I was like, can you imagine how these boards would have erupted if we had re-signed Funchess, only to have him miss the season -- again?

Depends if non high risk  or high risk opt out.

Non high risk - A voluntary opt-out, and the player must be under contract or subject to a tender. The player's contract will toll and all provisions of that contract for the tolled year will be applicable the following season; however, he will not receive an accrued season. The player will be eligible for a stipend of $150,000 to be treated as a salary advance against his tolled contract.

High risk - "A higher-risk opt-out player will receive an accrued season toward free agency and all benefits and minimum salary credit for a credited season and is also eligible for a stipend of $350,000, which will not constitute a salary advance."

hmmm so say a player making 20 million a year opts out for this year, does his 20 million then NOT count against the cap?

Correct!  It doesn't.  But it will next year... if he is non high risk and the contract was tolled.

So far no colt veterans testing positive. I believe there were two of the undrafted rookies. Texans have had zero positive in the last three days. Seems like everything is going pretty good. The covid list is getting smaller too.

Another day with no colts on the covid list. Mathew Stafford was added. Looks like only two players in the league added. Not counting the opt out. Nfl seems to be doing well. The players seemed to be taking this much more serious then the MLB. Players going to strip clubs was bound to have that happen.
