New and Improved Mascot

Recommended Posts

image.thumb.png.107dc897a6e874dc4e6d3ac80409f8f6.pngHowdy, from Glendale Arizona. This is my 3rd year of trying to upgrade our mascot, Blue. Since our team is still rebuilding to Champion caliber, I thought giving Blue an upgrade that would be more entertaining for kids and exciting to watch the transformation during the game. Here goes, Blue can get the fans pumped up for keeping the lead or having to come back from behind to win the game. On the big screen, Blue runs back to his locker room...the room shakes and the door opens with smoke coming out and "Boom, out comes a morphed mascot called "MIGHTY BLUE!" The fans there in the stadium start cheering and making a lot of noise(TV fans see it too)/ This mascot looks like the one in the picture from the PRO SHOP. If the picture does not get posted, I'll describe it...it is a white headed full size horse head with a muscular human-like body wearing a Colts uniform #00 holding a football leaping into the end zone. Then, after the game, Mighty Blue morphs back onto our beloved Blue.

Talk about a great marketing idea! It's Freakin' awesome and I am giving you this idea...for free.

Blue is a Hall of Famer and and he generates most of his power from his belly. If he bulked up I fear it would hinder his flexibility and we wouldn’t get to see him smacking down little kids in the peewee league.

My Grandkids have been seeing him since 2006 right thru 2007 and the super bowl.

Now my Great Grandkids have been watching him for 10 years.

I would hate to see that aspect of Blue taken away.

I maybe could warm up to the idea of having a female Blue? She could be the tough one?

I mean....there is a Blue Jr, so we know there’s a Mrs. or ex Mrs. Blue, right? Maybe that’s her on the right?

Remember Blue doing those hip thrusts last year after a late in game FG, timing was perfect lol

I'd say no because he'd scare children, but then again he's been a menace to kids for some time. Haha

The original mascot was Huddle, which I remember from when my dad and I first started getting season tickets back in the mid-80's.

It wouldn't have to be just Blue beating up Barney. How about Mr. Rogers  whole neighborhood?  :spit:

This thing has been around forever, Denver has a similar one.

That horse looks pretty jacked up.....

Let’s get rid of Blue and then bring Andrew back and put a horse head on him.... let him earn some of that 24 million Jimmy gave him.

This had me rolling, I also love our mascot just the way he is! I was at a charity event last year that Blue made an appearance at. There was a Harley motorcycle club there as well, pretty rough looking bunch. One of them yelled ”GO BEARS,” at Blue as he was walking into a building. Blue walked back out backwards, walked right up into the guys face and stared at him, then blew his nose streamers at him, thrust his midsection at him like in the video then strutted off, it was hilarious, the Harley dude didn’t even know how to react, lol!

Blue works perfect for children of all ages. I have no problem with a more demented mascot for print and video but Blue is great for the home games.

    • True in Lamar's first year in the league, but not last year.... but even if it was true for last year, I'm just going to leave these stats here:....   L. Jackson 2019 passing stats: 401 attempts  -  3,127 yards (avg 7.8)  -  36 TD  -  6 INTs  -  Passer rating: 113.3   P. Rivers 2019 passing stats: 591 attempts  -  4,615 yards (avg 7.8)  -  23 TD  -  20 INTs  -  Passer rating: 88.5   I know which QB i'd prefer.... especially as this ignores Lamar's value as a runner and elusiveness. Also yes i see your trapdoor emoji, but i get the feeling that other people feel this way..... so i wanted to just crush that narrative.
    • @Coffeedrinker are you seriously trying to tell me you wouldn’t have D. Watson, L. Jackson or M. Ryan over Phillip Rivers at this point in Rivers’ career?   You’re crazy man!
    • Remember Marvin after he was dinged? This is starting to remind me of literally Watching Marvin’s physical ability decline.  Not quite there yet, but I look at TY’s age and size.... well, heres to hoping he continues to avoid big hits.     The way Ballard has been adding wideouts the last couple years has me wondering if Ballard isn't concerned about 16 game health too.
    • I think if I had stayed in IN when I was beginning to watch baseball it would have been between Reds, Cubs, and Pirates since triple A. But by the time I was 10 I had moved.      When I am in STL next year I will probably try to attend as many of the Cubs/Cards series as possible since there are 10 games and I'm 15 minutes from Busch at that point
    • Watson will be a UFA in 2022.  Over the Cap projects the Texans to have 97.7m Cap Room while the Colts are projected with 164m.  Given the Texans horrible offensive line compared to the Colts why would Watson wish to stay and continue to take the punishment and risk further injury to a gifted QB?  This year might be a blessing either way.  Limited NFL play allows Watson to remain upright and nurse any lingering wounds but shortens his remaining playing contract.   Agree it is rare for QBs to transfer within conferences.  We have seen players seeking revenge against their former teams.  Got to think Watson has to still be bitter about the Hopkins trade.  Given the medical issue with his mother he may wish to remain close to Georgia.  I personally think the Colts organization is much better than the current Texans staff.   Again we will have more capital and a much improved offensive line to dangle in front of Watson and the recent history lesson of knowing we have to do better protecting our QBs post-Luck.  Take the lesson learned and acquire some talented WRs next year so we can bait him make it enticing for Watson to want to come here.  Make Watson our "Missing Link".
