2020 Colts Schedule Predictions

Recommended Posts

Here is my annual prediction - I've included 3 prime time games.  We haven't ended the season at Houston since 2003 and have never done it since the NFL started scheduling divisional finales in 2010 - we are overdue.

9/27/20 at Lions (CBS) 1pm

10/4/20 Bengals (CBS) 1pm

10/11/20 at Steelers (CBS) 4:25pm

10/18/20 Vikings (FOX) 1pm

10/26/20 Packers (ESPN) 8:15pm

I would say Raiders because having Rivers first game as a Colt against someone he has a history with would be cool but with them moving to Vegas I think they will have the first Sunday Night game at home against a bigger name team.

I don’t care to guess an entire schedule but I’ll say we open at Detroit.

8 games at home 7 games on the road and 1 game at TY Hilton second home.

Hopefully he bounces back...he had some horrible drops there last year

Yeah that was his first game back after missing a few weeks, and he was obviously still hurt

Hopefully we open up either in Chicago or at Tennessee so I can go to the game

They may not allow fans at the first few games.

I tweaked the order based on the format from schedule leaks.  If the week one leaked game is correct, I guessed the right opponent for MNF, just the wrong month.

Expected format for 2020 schedule:

Week 1-4: Out-of-Conference games

Week 5-6: Equal-place Conference games

Week 7-10: Divisional games/Bye weeks

Week 11-14: Inter-conference games

Week 15-17: Divisional games

9/14/20 Packers (ESPN) 8:15pm

9/20/20 at Lions (CBS) 1pm

9/27/20 at Bears (CBS) 1pm

10/4/20 Vikings (FOX) 1pm

10/11/20 at Raiders (CBS) 4:05pm

10/18/20 Jets (CBS) 1pm

10/26/20 at Jags (CBS) 1pm

11/1/20 BYE

11/8/20 at Titans (CBS) 1pm

11/15/20 Texans (CBS) 1pm

11/22/20 at Steelers (CBS) 4:25pm

11/29/20 Bengals (CBS) 1pm)

12/6/20 Ravens (NBC) 8:15pm

12/13/20 at Browns (CBS) 1pm

12/17/20 Jags (Fox/NFLN) 8:15pm

12/27/20 Titans (CBS) 1pm

1/3/21 at Texans (CBS) 1pm

I suppose we can pick wins and losses now.   That first game against the Packers would be tough.   First time with this new Colts offense with what I assume will have been limited practice and game time situations.

11-5.   I'd be happy with that.

    • Here's the Lions team needs (farther below), so Oke would fit the bill. Given his performance and PFF though this year, not sure he'd be something that tilted the scale. If Carolina, Denver, Dallas, or San Fran wanted to be players, we'd have to make up a decent delta between draft picks. So for instance, if Detroit's asking price is a first, and next year's second,   San Fran's #12 is basically worth our #12 AND our #54 out of the gate. And we'd still have to give them next year's 2nd. Oke isn't worth a #54 IMO. Rock might perk their interests given CB is a primary need. It's a decent draft for CBs, so not sure he'd close the gap either. Also something to consider, Detroit's cap space is about zero. They'd save of course 20ish by letting Stafford go, but still won't be looking to spend big (so our rooks, on rook deals, might be attractive).   Primary - QB, WR, CB Secondary - LB, IDL, OT, LB, IDL Ancillary - WR, S, EDGE No need - TE, RB   Here are the teams and draft pick that could be looking for a QB before us 8 Carolina 9 Denver 10 Dallas 11 NYG 12 San Fran 15 Pats 19 Wash 20 Chicago   Bears and Giants are in the negative on cap space, Panthers don't have a much (5.5). San Fran 9.3, but they'd save by cutting Jimmy.
    • Another Maryland Terp Alumni. Maybe Boomer Eisiason is the next hire !
    • i disagree with the adjective "very", and also think he'd need tier 1 WRs, which the Colts don't have. He's just way to limited.
    • As I said, the biggest mistake was the lack of stadium. We should have built it for Rosenbloom, but once they traded franchises , they should have built one for Irsay. That was the main point, it was all about money and revenue.  I believe Irsay would have moved eminent domain , or not. The reason Baltimore brought eminent domain is because they thought it was a done deal that he was going to move, based on the negotiations he and Chernoff were having in numerous cities. You have to also remember he was still making money in Baltimore, just not as much as he possibly could in another city. The attendance was depressed because of the product on the field , destroying the mid- seventies teams, Elway, the helicopter drop in at Jacksonville, etc. I’m not defending eminent domain , but just explaining what led up to it, as well as low Colt attendance at the time.
    • It’s not that it could get to expensive but niners have a  higher pick and they could easily throw next years one in there too with the team they already have. This is where could the colts throw a guy like Okereke in there.
