Draft week is upon us! You know what that means. Last minute smoke screens, rumors, hot takes, etc... I honestly love this time as a bunch of info gets fired out constantly. Figured I’d make a topic for everyone to post what they’re hearing. I’ll start it off

They just got Ford and Alexander last offseason lol.

Cap issues. They just paid Armstead and Jimmy G eats up a lot of cap too. Gotta be able to sign players down the road too.

Seems like a lot of teams want to move back.

I figure the top guys are Burrow, Simmons, Okudah, and Brown. Once those guys are gone I wonder if people are really that excited to get one of the top 4 OT’s, one of the receivers, etc...

Plus a lot of these teams have multiple needs. I see 3-4 trades happening in the top 15.

Jags want the 12th but the Raiders are offering the 19th.  Mayock would be doing the AFC South a solid.  Ultimately the Jags best option will be the 19th.

Colts fans would flip out if they took Love.

It would not shock me if the jags took a QB. But I’d they only end up with the one first round pick I doubt that’s what they would do. They lost a lot on defense this off season.

I would be devastated that he ends up in our division. Not because they took him but we will have a reminder twice a year what we passed on when we traded that 13th pick.

Jags oline would ruin any QB they ever get anyway.

With a guy like Love that could cover up some oline problems. This would hurt so bad. Seeing them get the future while all we have is a 38 yo QB. I hope that doesn’t happen.

I would be ok with that.

Tua will be big bust

I agree, Tua is made of glass and they can have the laid back piano man (Herbert) as well. I think Injuries will get the best of Tua and Herbert will be average at best. 2 best QB's in this draft IMO are Burrow and Love. My wildcard who I think can be a very good NFL QB, if not great is Anthony Gordon.

I think a steal could be Luton.

Really all Ballard needs to do is call up Bill O'Brien and by the time Cinci is on the clock we'll have a 2022 first rounder and 2020 fourth rounder in exchange for Mark Glowinski and a pack of designer dust masks.

Remember on Die Hard when Hans says, "You ask for a miracle, I give you the F...B...I" ???

Well Bill O'Brien is the proverbial F...B...I.

Or we can wait until he and Watson don’t get along.

Tua will sell tickets for at least a couple seasons over Herbert imho.

If he can stay on the field. I agree with you if plays like 13 or 14 games. His injuries scare me though. It will be interesting to see who Miami takes at #5.

Agree. His name alone selected will get season tix holders excited and new ones added. Will he play right away remains to be seen as well and if so, does he stay healthy? If he plays and does enough, you will get those extended ST holders and new ones added for 2 years in a row. Always a crap shoot.

It is sad he has had so many injuries because his talent is off the charts. Leg and hip injuries aren't good though.

That's fantastic if Love slips to 25 on

If he is still there at the NE and NO pick and they pass on him that’s a easy trade up to get that 5th year option if they actually want him. I wish we knew what ballard actually thinks of him. We will probably never know. We will just hear I told you we wouldn’t force a QB. I’d love falls that far that also means most people have a second rd or later grade on him.

    • I don't think there is a true transaction here in any of their cases.  Just medical clearance to practice keeping the same designation.   Thus Adams is in the same boat as Pittman, IR.  Thus the IR rules (for 2020 only):   These 2020-only rules allow the team to remove any player with a football or non-football injury (NFI) from the roster for three weeks. After three weeks, the player will be eligible to return to practice. Once he returns to practice, the team will have 21 days to place him back on the active roster. Every team would have the ability to return an unlimited number of players to the active roster following placement on injured reserve or the non-football injury/illness list.   Now, for players on the Reserve/PUP list (Kemoko Turay)   When roster cuts rolled around after the final preseason game: 1. if a player wasn’t medically cleared; and 2. if he was listed on the Active/PUP list all during training camp   then he can be transferred to the Reserve/PUP, which prevents that player from playing and practicing during the first six weeks of the season. Players are only eligible for PUP if they were on the Active/PUP list all summer and did not play or practice with their team at any point.   Once they are medically cleared, they’re allowed to practice immediately. Again, by rule, players on Reserve/PUP and Reserve/NFI are excluded from practicing and playing during the first six weeks of the regular season. * * After six weeks are in the books, teams have another six week window for that player to begin practicing.  Once they do practice, teams will then have 21 days to make a decision:   1) Activate the player to the 53-man roster, 2) Release/waive the player or 3) Do nothing and keep him on the PUP list.   HTH
    • Don't jinx it!!!
    • Well said!!! Very valid points.
    • These threads are always interesting.   Reich is obviously a good dude...but as a HC...I am lukewarm. He has shown at times that he can scheme very well. Just look at how wide open Ebron was all of the time in 2018...OR how JB had open first reads early last year (especially against ATL and HOU).   But it's pretty inconsistent. Granted...he hasn't had Luck for the past 1.5 seasons...but one of Reich's biggest selling points was that he was the OC of a team that plugged in a backup QB and steamrolled through the playoffs and won a SB. I definitely haven't seen that level of offensive scheming.   And I am sure people will disagree...but as soon as Reich said he wanted to be a top 5 running team after the 2018 season...I started to get worried. The Colts were coming off a season where they had a top 10 offense (probably better than that if you throw out the early games) and were #1 in pace of play. The run game obviously did not hold them back in 2018...and they were a very fun team to watch.   But since making that comment after the 2018 season (that he has since doubled down on)...the Colts have been ranked 25th and 21st in passing offense (DVOA)...and their pace of play has gone from 1st to 14th to 26th this year.   If this is all because he lost Luck...fine...but what does that say about Reich? That he is just another offensive-minded coach who gets propped up by a good QB?   It just seems like there has been a very deliberate move into this ball control, run-first mindset...and it's very hard to say it's working. They have heavily invested in an OL (and will have to spend more than anyone else to keep it)...and the team is currently last in YPC. Part of the blame goes to the OL and the RBs...but it's also on the coaching staff.   On the flip side...they are 6th in adjusted sack rate...and are keeping a statue of a QB upright...yet they are 21st in passing offense. Again...some of that has to be on coaching or mindset.    Given the OL they have...and that play in a dome...this team should be a fast-paced, high-scoring team...led by the passing offense. I know the WRs keep getting hurt...but a dome team (with a top 5 OL) that has a bottom 3rd passing offense is definitely an indictment on an offensive-minded HC.
    • I will vomit if the Cowboys get a chance at a top qb
