Lacey Signs With Lions

Recommended Posts

Guess the coaches didn't see anything the liked in Lacey

Jacob Lacey - DB - Lions

Lions signed CB Jacob Lacey to a one-year contract.

The Lions have found a potential replacement for Eric Wright in a 24-year-old who has already made 27 career starts, but was also benched for a five-game stretch by the NFL's worst team last season. Lacey is serviceable against the run, but has been one of the league's most frequent burn victims the past few seasons. He became an unrestricted free agent after being non-tendered by the Colts, and had drawn no other known interest on the open market.

Hahaha!

That bio is ridiculous! I hope Lacey doesn't read it; it would destroy his self-esteem...

Kinda like Tim Jennings?lol

Not that he's been great, but do you mean the Tim Jennings who has started 28 of 32 regular season and both playoff games games since being signed by the Bears and just signed a new contract with those same Bears before he became a free agent?

I would start Jennings without hesitation over Lacey.

Shouldn't this be banished to NFL General with all the Peyton threads using the same logic that Lacey is no longer a Colt?

I'm guessing after next season it won't fit in NFL general either. (HEY OHHH!)

haha

Or kept here in the Colts section along the same lines as why certain Peyton threads are still here, even though both are no longer Colts.

I don't have a problem with it staying here but I've seen many Manning threads moved to NFL general and when asked why they were moved it was stated because Manning is no longer a Colt. So does that rule only apply to Peyton Manning or does it apply to all former Colts?

I think it applies to all former Colts, and that you have caught the mods mid move.

They have a lot of Peyton threads to move.

Luck fans just don't want Peyton to hang around. ;)

And I thought their secondary was bad already..

Well you can blame this on megatron, they don't have any money to fix the issue. I would hope for their sake he is going to be a backup, otherwise the Lions will have the same problem they had last year.

    • Watch the Jets go after him.
    • If Martin is able to play G and the Colts think Q can really kick out to LT, then this could be a cheaper option then what you will have to pay a LT....that's hoping for a lot to go right though.
    • With a reduction in salary cap for all teams, its going to be tough for some of the FAs to find homes at a decent level of $$   Its a long season in the NFL,  and I would LOVE to have Mack back, if the cash is right.
    • When you finish #30 (PFF), #36 (DVOA), #34 in passer rating, #28 in QBR, #34 INT%, #34 in completion %, #36 in N/YA and ANY/A and sack %...I think you should absolutely get criticized for changing plays at the LOS or resisting coaching. Doesn't mean you are an *about it...but if you are stubborn and then fail...it's fair game. That's not just a personality issue at that point...it's a team issue.   But we will never the full depth of the disconnect in PHI (it's never as bad as some say and never as good as others say)...and I don't really care at this point...but it is a risk factor for this change of scenery not working. Mostly, I am more concerned about fixing the mechanical issues from last season. He could be the greatest teammate ever...but if he's doing a lot of same the stuff as last season...that won't matter.
    • I agree.  I feel terrible for Marlon.  But this is a business governed by both a salary cap (which is lower this coming year) and a 53 man roster.  JT’s progress, combined with MM’s injury, might make him a luxury we can’t afford...depending where his price tag lands.
