So the Colts net

Jordan love

Justin Jefferson

Thaddeus Moss

Antonio Gandy-Golden

 McTelvin Agim

Alex Taylor

Carter Coughlin

Count me all in on that one. While i have my reservations about Jefferson I love the Gandy-Golden pick.

You have concerns about a Jefferson?

May I ask you to share your concerns?  I confess I’m a little surprised....

God bless you man. Must have took forever to do.

Appreciate it. Wasn't as long as I was anticipating once I got in the flow. Was bored chillin yesterday decided to start it and see where it went. I did get a little lazy after Colts (2nd) 6th round pick.

What's your thoughts on the trades? I anticipate someone will trade in front of Miami if they dont trade up. Then in this instance Jacksonville is looking at LAC sitting there at #6 waiti

ng for a QB, so they trade up in front of them. SD moves on Love falls. Then we trade upnin front of NE and NO while keeping #34. Got to #34 and their were so many receiving options that it only made sense to move back a few spots and pick up a 4th.?

Rolled with 2 key parts of the most prolific offense in College history.(Jefferson, Moss)

Then Gandy setting there with other 4th round pick was to inticing.

I like our final 3 picks as well.

Again

Taylor stood out because that's where Leonard went, so maybe they've been lookiny at him for a couple years?

Always like Coughlin.

My first thoughts were... less than thrilled.

But honestly, it's pretty great, especially as a scenario for if we did choose to go the route of moving up for Love. In that scenario it probably would be ideal to move back from 34 and get more picks like you did. We did lose out on any comfortable OL depth, though, and that's kind of scary. We need it. I wouldn't bet money on us moving up for Love, but part of me definitely still thinks it could be a reality if he falls past a certain point. Pick 22 seems like that kind of point. It makes sense to move ahead of New England and New Orleans. Really if the team still believes Love could be the future then we could probably live even if you don't trade the 34th. Just trade for Love use 34 on WR, and 122 on a TE. That said. If Love were our future, you'd think we'd have stayed where we were. It'd be a crazy, bold, aggressive, historic draft if our GM traded for an all-pro, signed a top quarterback, solving our biggest need in the second, AND got our QB of the future. One can dream. But the safer and more realist route would be that we stay at our picks and get the best out of them.

It’ll be interesting come draft time.  I view Justin Jefferson as in contention for WR2 - gone by 22 or 23 at the latest.  And Mims, I see him as being gone by the mid-20s, with a possibility of someone pulling the trigger in the teens.  But I hope you’re right - drafts like this give me hope that Mims could conceivably fall to us at 35 (my fondest hope).

He played nearly exclusively out of the slot last year which that and having Burrow at QB is why he was so successful. I do have a full on write up on him i did back in February if you care enough to take a look. Granted A.J Brown was mostly in the slot at Ole Miss but he had flashed on the boundary enough to make me comfortable thinking he could do it in the pro's, but I did not see that in the film with Jefferson. He has incredible hands but we need a true X receiver and with the likes of Higgins and Mims still on the board i would 10/10 have them over Jefferson.

Personally I'm not too sold on Love myself. Just kinda through something out there. As if he was setting there, and we were interested, a spot that made sense. Plus on top of that, if we were planning on taking a qb that early, it makes sense to get that 5th year option.

Who knows? Good news is we're only a couple weeks + out now.

They definitely could of been had in this mock. Like I said, there was too may receiving options setting there, had to move back a few spots get an extra pick.

I love this draft. Very nicely done. My only issue is Moss. Not a believer in him, would probably go defense with that pick. It would be surprising seeing Ballard not pick a defensive player until the 5th but the way he's played free agency, I definitely wouldn't rule it out. Our 1st 2 picks alone make this draft a win in my eyes though.

Moss probably is a dice roll, growing up the son of a legend is tough. I think he is a little to complacent. Used to have stuff given to him. Hopefully being in the league will up his game to a new level? If he puts it all together though, the pedigree is out this world.

I agree. Doesn't seem like a Ballard guy. His name is carrying him more than his work ethic and production.

I agree, whether here or not hopefully that changes for him. I'm sure he'll grow up.

Thanks for checking out the mock.

Any thoughts on any other parts of it?

No problem. I appreciate you doing this.

Love the trade up to snag Love right before the Pats. I was a believer of grabbing him at 13 to sit behind Rivers before the Buckner trade. If we can still get him, I'd be thrilled.

Also a big fan of Justin Jefferson. Him in the 2nd would be an amazing pick. I do think the likelihood that Mims, Jefferson, and Higgins all 3 make it that late is not likely but who knows. I would be happy with any one of them with our first pick in the 2nd.

In addition to twfish's response and previous write-up, TDN just had a piece specifically about this and whether Jefferson is relegated to the slot or if he can play outside:

https://thedraftnetwork.com/articles/outside-receiver-slot-receiver-justin-jefferson-nfl-draft-2020

I tend to agree that he'll need to play mostly out of the slot early to get him free releases, but I can see him be able to play well on the boundary after a year or 2.
