It's the moment everyone has been waiting for! Indianapolis is on the clock, and they are not trading this pick! A player is to be selected!

A small, blue and white envelope is passed up through the cheering fans, containing the name of the player to be selected by the Colts, and no, it won't be announced by an ape this time!

With the 40th pick in the 2020 Colts Forum Gavin Mock Draft, the Indianapolis Colts select:

Jeff Gladney, CB, TCU

The top prospect remaining on my board, Gladney fills the hole created by the departure of Pierre Desir. An elite cornerback, Gladney is a great fit in the current defensive scheme, where he can use his superb instincts and athleticism, along with great ball skills, to make plays on the ball and force turnovers. A super-aggressive cover-man, Gladney plays much bigger than his measurements and has the potential to be one of the best, if not the best, cornerback from this class.

What say you, Colts Nation??? Do you like this pick, or would you rather I have gone in a different direction!! Cheers!

If I'm not mistaken, @coltsfanej should be on the clock with the Cleveland Browns!

Very good pick for our D. Fiesty player. Good job.

@chad72 it’s not letting me message you, need you to confirm that deal

Yes, I confirm the deal between the Falcons and the Jaguars

Falcons get Pick No.42

Jaguars get Pick No.47 and Pick No.119

Can I make the pick now?

With the 42nd pick, The Atlanta Falcons select:

Cole Kmet, TE, Notre Dame

Now, Matt Ryan makes up for the loss of Sanu and Hooper in the middle and gets 2 good TEs in Kmet and Hurst to do blocking for Gurley as well as complement Julio and Ridley to get the Falcons humming in the division again, especially with Brees and Brady in the division to keep up with.

Had to get ahead of the Bears and Indy that both needed TE help, IMO, hence the trade.

@CR91 and The Chicago Bears on the clock

Good move

Sorry for missin the pick guys.  I spent the day getting all my computer screens and stuff from work and setting up shop at home to work for the next foreseeable future.  Thanks for the assist.  If Denzel Mims wasn't there, it would have been Justin Jefferson.  Good pick assistant GMs!

Theres still some really really good WR on the board

Yeah, Aiyuk is the highest rated WR close to this draft spot remaining.

Plus, more than WRs, RB sweet spot is Round 2 and 3 lately, and rookie RBs can give ROI faster than rookie WRs at this stage, IMO. Swift is still on the board. Mack is still not extended, may not be extended if there are well rounded backs available to compete against him. Free agency has addressed DT and QB for the most part. If we let Jonathan Williams go, this is a natural Mack replacement with a higher ceiling with 3 down potential and catching ability, Swift that is.

No.1 RB vs No.6 or No.7 WR on the board, I don't know, BPA makes a compelling case here.

D'andre Swift and Jonathon Taylor are both still available but idk about a RB right now. Laviska Shenault, Pittman JR are still available plus Hunter Bryant. Here is definitely the spot i am taking a skill position. Or he could choose our saving grace in Jake Fromm here hahahahahahahaha

Last 3 highly drafted RBs from Georgia - Gurley, Chubb, Sony Michel, have all done more than well, IMO.

If Mack cannot be a 3 down back tipping the playbook when Hines comes in, and wants a contract disproportionate to how he is used, I'd rather get an RB on a rookie contract with a higher ceiling, IMO. We cannot wait till Mack leaves to invest in an RB and if we do invest in an RB, we have to look at it from the point of Mack insurance, not Hines insurance or Jonathan Williams insurance, IMO. That is why we invested in Addai to make the Addai-Rhodes 1-2 punch for 3 down backs and it worked out great for us. You won't find many 3 down backs as you go later in the draft.

You can however get a good #2 WR in Rounds 3 and 4 as well in this draft. This forum, however, is typically not skill position friendly and users develop favorites and only if those favorites are available, they pull the trigger. However, I think I have made a compelling case based on what is available. :)  This is not the spot for a developmental OL.

Unable to find a trade partner to make a move down, the Colts are forced to make their pick here. While they were targeting this player later in the round, they decide that they don't want to risk the chance of not getting him at all, and instead decide to select him here. Though considered a reach by many, this player will make an impact immediately at a position of great need for the Colts.

With the 44th pick in the 2020 Colts Forum Gavin Mock Draft, the Indianapolis Colts select:

Michael Pittman Jr, WR, USC

Indy has long needed a taller, dominant possession wideout, and Pittman fits that mold to a T. Having a massive build with sneaky speed for his size, Pittman comes in as our immediate WR2 behind Hilton, and gives Rivers his taller target which he likes so much. However, my favorite thing about this player is something that Reich has preached that he wants to see in his WRs, and that is run blocking. Pittman is an animal in the running game, able to absolutely man-handle cornerbacks and has a nasty demeanor on crack blocks.

What say you, Colts Nation? Yea or Nay on this pick?

@Zoltan and the Buccaneers should now be on the clock!

Skill position is the right pick. WR2 with WR1 upside is a good way to go. Can't really argue with the position, though we all have our preferences.

Great pick, underrated route runner. It would be tough choosing between him and Schenault.

Can't believe you made us wait that long though........... lol
