Shocked it’s only one year. I don’t think Buckner and Rivers equal a Super Bowl run.

Maybe not, but Buchner and JB don't equal an AFCS run.

Well, I suppose we're drafting a QB to sit a year, or they're gaining confidence in Kelly(?).

We are talking about a 38 year old QB here. One year isn't too surprising.

Hope it works out well for both sides.

Cool. This sounds good. Lets see the numbers now.

edit: per Rap it's 25M.

Now if we manage to get something for Brissett, this would be a great an upgrade in starting QB while getting some compensation for it.

They are targeting a QB in the draft. We are in for something happening in the draft. We are in for a ride.

With it being one year, it's my opinion they'll try to get a QB in this draft.

To be fair...Rivers never said he was only coming back to win a SB. He said he wanted to play. He wanted to compete. Guy just loves football and wants a chance to have one more go around. I see him as a bridge...a bridge to where we don't know yet but I'm sure Ballard has a plan.

Ok who and what round are we taking a QB to groom under rivers for 1 year?

Hurts, Gordon, Eason?

Good chance. Don't forget we have two 2nd round picks and of course future picks. That said I don't think Ballard will force the issue. Rivers buys us a year...and this doesn't mean this isn't a year by year basis either both for us and Rivers.

I don’t know what makes me most happy - that JB is gone or this is only a 1 year deal!

This is fine.

Per Luis Reddick, 2019 Rivers made mistake after mistake.

  • - Doesnt think he's gonna make everyone else better.

- His physical abilities has gone done.

So...Is next year's draft expected to be big on QBs?  Is that Ballard's thinking?

It's like the Funchess deal last year. It's for one year - a year where we need to spend cap.

While true, he had a terrible offensive line that couldn't protect him. He'll do well in Indy's offense.

No they are not Jesus. This will be Chad's team. Enough with the QB drafting already. You honestly believe Eason or Hurts or Gordon better than Chad? You're delusional

I highly doubt it.

No way we are keeping 40M ties up between both QBs

Glad it's just for 1 year. I think a significant part of Rivers' role in Indy will also be mentoring whatever rookie QB they bring in, assuming they do so.  In an ideal world, Love or Herbert fall to 34 and they sit for a year behind Rivers.
