I wonder if everything is alright with him? Like health wise or attitude wise. This looks like a weird cut. He seems to be properly paid too. It's not like it's some huge overpay. I guess Atlanta needs to cut their payroll somehow.

They can announce that they have agreed in principle to a deal, but they cannot actually sign free agents until Wednesday, unless said free agents had previously been actually cut.  Rivers was not actually cut.
