Great deal for Tennehill. I would personally franchise tag him and see how he does next year before I give him such contract, but it's not like they can't get out of it in 2 years so... not too bad for the Titans either. He had great year and I doubt he replicates it quite to that level, but he's a much better QB than Mariota and can be a QB of a winning team.

I guess this shuts down the Brady to Tennessee rumors. So where does he end up now?

I still think he is a game manager type QB, average QB at worse though, perhaps above average . He had a nice run last year but can he do it again? Making it to the AFC Title Game is tough.

He can earn his contract without even making the Playoffs.

I'm glad for the guy. He escaped purgatory in Miami and got a second chance. He played terrific last year, far better than anyone projected. Its a nice story of redemption.

As long as they have that O-line and Henry, Tannehill's efficiency will remain high, IMO. He is at the same level as Dak Prescott, IMO, with the main difference being the Titans had far better coaching at all levels than the Cowboys, making a difference in winning close games.

I definitely think it was the right move for them because he is a lot younger than Brady. I just have my doubts he will ever win a SB. He could, Foles and Flacco both did it so who knows?

Winning SBs is a lot about the passing game and/or pass defense nowadays. A team that is strong on both fronts will always have a chance. The pass is setting up the run for the stronger teams as opposed to the run setting up the pass, based on what I am seeing.

Tannehill gets 118 million and Henry gets a franchise tag...  That's backwards as hell.  Henry is the engine that powers that Titan's train.  Tannehill won 2 playoff games where he couldn't even throw for 100 yards passing.  We've crucified JB for those kind of performances...  This may end up being a blessing in disguise for us.  Because I have no fear of Tannehill's Titans.

i think they did the right thing, Tannehill was good last year and paying running backs hasnt worked out for many teams lately

his %, qb rating,  pff rating, and football outsiders grade were all very good last year.  hes an under rated runner too, probably as good as luck was

You don't give RB's top dollar if you can help it.

I agree that Tannehill isn't a deeply concerning presence over there in Titan land.

    • I don't necessarily disagree with anything you've said.  However, there have been 0 rookie QBs who have made the SB, and only 2, Mark Sanchez and Joe Flacco, have won more than 1 game in the playoffs.  SO the chances of a drafted rookie coming in next year and taking us past the wild card round seem pretty negligible.   Sure old man Rivers arm could fail.  Maybe Eason is ready to go next year.  That would probably be pretty shocking but it certainly would be a great boost to the org long term. Trading for a quality QB is possible but not likely.   Hopefully, Luck is bored.  That is really to me the only plausible way for us to significantly improve our QB situation next year. Dak is available.  Other than that, I don't see much on the immediate horizon to compete IN 2021.   Bottom line, is most likely Rivers is our best option assuming he wants to play again.
    • For what it's worth I live in Spokane and see all of the Seahawks games.  Metcalf is usually pretty reliable and I was surprised to see the drops this week.  But, who knows.  He still needs some work.  Lockett is more dependable.  He is fast, runs good routes, and catches just about everything around him.
    • I still think we need to win a championship or get deep multiple years in the playoffs first. He's 1-1 in the Postseason so far. Let's see where we end up.
    • Could be worst lol. A 12-4 team in the NFC could be a wildcard team
    • Well, compared to what we have, pretty much any athlete in their 20s will be more mobile.
