Can you peg NFL player contracts as a percentage of the annual cap?

We all know salary caps keep going up, at least for now. I wouldn't be surprised if it went up from the $188 mil. figure to $200 mil. in 2020.

 

Can a player's contract, like a QB contract, be pegged as 15% of the cap with incentives, say for a marquee player like Mahomes? Is there anything in the CBA that prevents you from doing that? Just curious.

what do you mean by pegged?
