So, anyone NOT think the Brisset experiment is over?

So.......Ballard had had 3 years to build this D and if anything, they have gotten worse.  I go results not on how many of his picks r starting.  This D is horrendous.

You wanted him to get starter quality players with every. Single. Acquisition.  Lmao.  The entire roster needed replaced minus a small handful of players.... Half of which were either kicking specialists or have retired now.  It is good to see there are forum features for the visually impaired though apparently.....  It isn't like Ballard is infallible.  But look at his acquisition s and cap management..... As opposed to the guy before him.  And then compared to anyone else replacing an entire roster in three offseasons.  He's doing just fine overall, and exceedingly well in some areas.  Ballard is also short of amazing in a few as yet to be determined areas as well ...

Keep believing. Hopefully the other GMs in the league also believe so we can do what we want to do in the draft and FA.

People, including the colts front office, can believe all they want.  That knee injury didn't cause the issues this kid hasn't improved markedly since his college career began.  JB is a nice guy, but Parcells must've been drunk and/or senile.... I mean, Polian lost his touch too.... We all saw what became of guys he personally vouched for... Son included.  Lol

Decent back up, but a guy that just plays scared. He holds onto the ball too long, misses open receivers and just can't move the team. This game has to be the final nail in that debate..

I sure hope it's over.  If Brissett starts next year, I am cancelling Sunday Ticket and NOT watching the team.

I just think JB holds on to the ball to long and that will be his downfall.

There is a lot more wrong with his play than that!

I don’t think it is over. Not because of Brissett himself. But I think there’s just no better options that are going to be available.

I heard this same nonsense argument with Vinny.  Does anyone feel scared before any extra point any longer?  The argument was invalid with him and is also invalid with Jacoby.  Literally anyone else can give you 150 yards a game!

This would have to be the worst draft in NFL history for there not to be an option better than Brissett. That's not even counting FA.

Outside of Burrow, none of the other QBs look like an upgrade. And we are way too far down to remotely convince the bengals to give him up.

What would you think of Rivers on a 2 year deal? and then drafting all defense?

Meh, I think he’s done. I’d rather have Brees haha.

it’s gonna be an interesting off season with so many QBs that are long tenured entering FA and or retirement (possibly)

Brady

Brees

Manning

Rivers

Rothesberger (retirement rumors)

plus guys such as

Foles

Carr

Bridgewater

all being possible trade targets.

QBs are gonna be highly overhyped this draft. Had the same feeling in the 2013 class

Reich was a career back up and played extremely well when he had to start. He is one of the guys and would never say anything bad about any player in the league much less on this roster.

I think he is full aware of Brisset's short comings (which are numerous to say the least), and would want a much better option.

Coaches that have GM power would not have been saddled with this situation. I think between Ballard and Irsay, most of the player decisions are made thru them. I'm not to say they are bad decision makers, but their loyalty is getting in the way of moving forward in a positive way.

Yeh, Luck may have been the fly in the ointment but, there are probably 20 QB's riding the bench

and all are a better option. Hoyer better be an offensive guru, but he can't play. Him being on the roster is puzzling. Ballard's decision I believe. Kelly not getting any chance at all, another Ballard decision. I do like Ballard's draft prowess. A lot of rookies played a lot of games this year.

Ballard needs to supply Reich with good players he and his staff can work with and they should be deciding who starts and who walks. If the Colts can't or won't improve the QB position over the next few weeks, then they will have to live with this, but we don't.

The bolded says it. We can't control what they do or make the decisions, but we can control if we watch the product. If the FO won't make the effort to put out a winning product, we can find something else to do with our Sundays. I'll give them a pass this year because of the timing of Luck's retirement. Brissett failed, now draft someone new and start over.

Totally disagree with the bolded.  I would guess there are a minimum of 6-8 off the top of my head that have as much if not considerable more potential and wouldn't cost us anywhere close to the $21.5 M that JB will cost  us.

It could be worse.  We could be in the Bears' position.  With a QB that has regressed to the point of playing not much differently than JB, but they traded up to get Trubisky at the #2 overall pick.  They have to play him.  The draft choice demands that they play him.

We, at least, got JB as a trade, and he wasn't supposed to be a franchise player.  We are under no pressure but our own to play him.

Every draft pick of 2019 has been productive except the last 3 the 6th pick and the two 7th. Everyone else has played and played well.

Ya Sin has been terrible. He’s regressed in every game. This draft class is very questionable.

This is Ballard's plan of misirection. Let the masses blame Brissett for his shorty comings, which r evident, so it takes the focus of of his lackluster free agent acquisitions and poor drafting.

That's it keep hammering away at me for my opinion; I can take it. 3 years of building and people are happy with the progress of this D?  It is a yes or no question. Everyone keeps hammering away at Brissett and I get it.  That being said, I think I am more worried bout the talent and scheme moving forward on the  D than I am worried bout Brissett.

There are two massive holes on this team. Quarterback and D-line. Obviously one of those positions will catch the attention of most people over the other.

How can you say he's regressed when our D-Line can't get a sack to save their life. Every CB we have had has not looked good because we can't get pressure on the QB. Plain and simple.

JB was not an experiment. He was the back up to our starter that retired 2 weeks before the start of the season. JB did prove this season that he is a back up. Reich tried his best to pump sunshine into his * to build up confidence, let him know the team was %100 behind him. Gave him an extension. It didnt work. Some seem to think Reich is a qb whisperer or something. Also didnt work for JB. Personnally I really dont know that a rook will learn sitting behind JB. The nuances of the position that need to be learned, he does not possess. We are in a bad situation right now at QB. Luck set us back a couple years unfortunately.

You basically stated that all of our 2019 draft class has played well. That’s certainly not the case. As for Ya Sin, it’s troublesome that he didn’t look any better toward seasons end. The switched never flipped for him. Campbell lol yea ok even when on the field very unimpressive. Bobby looks to have potential and didn’t see enough of bangou. Willis looked better at the midway point of the season. This class is shaky.

The point is everyone trashing him. They threw him right into the fire. It’s going to pay off. The guy is very mentally strong and a hard worker.

It’s not trashing. He did not play well all season. He struggled all season. There weren’t games where you said that guy is going to be a good one. This was a bad season. Nothing wrong with calling it like it is

For those of you who keep hammering at the Colt defense, I talked to my brother on Christmas day, a huge Bears fan. I asked him what's wrong with the Bear defense this year? he said"nothing, they are playing better this year than last year, the problem this year is all on Trubisky and the offense" Same can be said for the Colts, it is so demoralizing to watch a qb miss open receivers time and time again. Way to many 3 and outs, inability to move the chains and sustain drives. With that said howevwer I still think we need dline in this upcoming draft, that should be a prerogative.

No I stated in a another post that all our 2019 draft has been productive except the last 3 picks. And as far as our CB's from the draft our D-line didn't help our draft class or any other CB on our roster.

I do think it's not over - if for no other reason than who are we going to replace him with? I don't think Ballard and Reich would take any QB we would be in a position to draft over Jacoby, and the same is likely true of any free agents.

I will be shocked if Jacoby isn't the starter week 1 of the 2020 season.

I'd be p!ssed.

For being a rookie playing almost every snap I disagree. He had very good moments and looked pretty good. You just want to point out the bad ones.
