Hard for me to believe that CB uses #34 on a CB two years in a row. It'd
almost be an admission that Ya-Sin isn't what they thought he'll eventually
In that D, as long as you have the top priority, a DL-generated (!!!) pass rush,
CB is just not a premium spot. No way you can spend two straight, top of the
2nd round picks on it.
If you eval'ed Ya-Sin correctly, there's you eventual (outside) CB-1. A good
GM can find a guy to play on the other side in the mid-round area.
So I'm guessing/hope that Ballard will be talking to Mack and Kelly's reps after the draft about signing a long term deal.
Could also try to get Hooker locked in even though we have a 5 year option on him.
Oh sorry I wasn't thinking. For some reason I thought 2021 was 2 years from now.
That would be significant.
None the less, it only helps if we sign extensions and contracts this year before the new cap is announced. Because after it's announced players and agents are going to be making salary demands based upon the new cap number.
