I love this guy.

I'd also say its a shot at Ebron but it could apply to a certain someone too

I don’t think so. They are really good friends and luck didn’t quit halfway through the season.

He also said he feels way better. Maybe he plays Monday. I doubt he wants to go out this season with dropping balls.

No, Luck quit mid-game, which is worse yet.

Coaching staff oughta just shut him down. Let some young WR get some money and get fully healthy for next year. Its a waste of effort on his behalf to go out injured and try and give his all for literally nothing. At this point it hurts the team more to win then it does to lose.

mid-game?!?

He did no such thing.   Your insanity on this issue is back in full bloom.

It was reported Luck was retiring during the game.   That’s entirely different than actually doing it mid-game.   The decision was already made by Luck, and Ballard and Reich before the game even started.

Come on now.  You know all this.   I didn’t tell you anything you don’t already know....    it’s ok to get over this.

When was it leaked that he was retiring? Mid game right? So therefore, it was a mid game retirement. Period. Who announced it is irrelevant

And I will forever say he quit on this team, no matter how justifiable his rationale may be or what his prior contributions were.

Couldn’t agree more. Luck put himself in the situation when he decided to go snowboarding. People always try to forget or sugarcoat what he did.

I hardly call it a mid-game retirement when it was preseason and he hadnt even played.

i guess you could say mid-season even technically.

logic would call it simply retiring prior to the season starting.  Its all semantics, no reason to argue or discuss.
He’s gone.

You should just come out and curse the ground Luck walks on. At least that would seem genuine.

No.   Not even a little bit true.

Luck didn't retire mid-game.    He told Ballard and Reich the day BEFORE the game.    It was supposed to be announced the day AFTER the game.     The person you should be * at is whoever in the Colts organization that leaked the news to Shefter.   Even Ballard said so.

You're still so * at Luck,  that you're blaming HIM for something he didn't even do.    He did not quit at in the middle of a game.    And no amount of twisting of the English language makes it so.     You're * at the wrong person and blaming Luck for it.

I don't care that you think he quit on the team.   That's your opinion.   But trying to make it worse than it is by saying he quit on the team at halftime is nonsense.    And you know it.    Blaming Luck for something someone else did is nonsense.    And you know it.     You're much smarter than this....

Regardless Luck quit the team, and will always be remembered that way!

    • For your consideration….   Nobody knew who Ebukam was when the Colts signed him week 2 last year.   And nobody knew who Denico Autry was when the Colts signed him in week 2.   “Who?” Was the most popular comment both times.  They turned out really well.      Im not sayin Ballard is going to do it again this year, it hasn’t happened every year, all I’m saying it’s happened from time to time so it’s still possible that CB will find a keeper that people here will like.
    • Could he do it?  Sure, but it is much tougher for him than most owners in the NFL.  The Colts just layed out $200 million this free agency.  I imagine over half in guaranteed money.  That’s a lot for Jim.
    • With all that said...
    • Spending doesn't mean you will win. You still need to spend smart and you still need to draft well and overall make good decisions.    Not spending limits you in your roster construction. I don't know why it's so hard for people to understand. The best teams in the league use ALL available avenues for improving their team. They do not limit themselves artificially with what's possible to achieve. They also concentrate resources into windows of contention. This means at any given time, if you are not spending you are competing against teams that are pouring resources into trying to win it RIGHT NOW. You will just always be at disadvantage because while 1 specific team will need to reload and take their lumps for spending too much in short period of time once in a while, the league as a whole will always have at least a few teams that are in that high spending mode chasing a window for contention.    Now... is it possible you strike gold and beat those teams while relying almost exclusively on the draft? It's possible. If you string together a few insane draft classes. But it's not very likely...
    • This gets peddled like it means spending in FA doesn’t work. The Rams won a Super Bowl by spending. The Colts don’t spend and haven’t won bupkis since Ballard got here.    I’m not saying the Colts should just spend mindlessly and I don’t think that’s what anyone wants. But, Ballard’s gotta cover his draft misses by spending in FA otherwise we’ll never win with him at the helm.
