Season high on offense

Recommended Posts

That's pathetic.....the passing game has been the foundation for this team for years yeah it's nice to have run game not complaining about that but the reason this offense hasn't been consistent because we don't pass it enough frank has to fix it or it will be a disaster

It’s kind of crazy when everyone wanted Jacoby to throw downfield and he does with 319 yards he kills us with INT.

JB did some good things today.  I hope the INT's don't scare him back into making those throws down field.

Today he did pass enough because the Titans completely shut the running game down.  The problem was his QB made two costly INTs on balls he shouldn’t have thrown.  Add in a fumble and the kicking game issues and thats too much to over come.

No. The passing game had 319 yards. I’d anything we didn’t run well enough.

I'm talking about this season as a whole

He's a veteran QB(JB) and can't stay consistent.  Look at the rookies and 2nd year QB, they're light years ahead of JB.  We need a new QB period.period...

About 70 of that in garbage time.

17 points. Again. I feel like the 2019 Colts story could be titled 17 points. I'm sure there's something better, but 17 points..

It was nice to see Wilkens get in and play well.  He eventually became the No1. RB today after Williams was benched.  His pass blocking could use some work though.

You have to feed Williams he is one of those backs that gets stronger the more carries he gets 8 carries wow.

I wonder what he did.  The only thing I saw was the run he bounced to the outside.

He's made some pinpoint down-the-field throws this year, but today, those were terrible throws/decisions.

To win with Brissett, I think you almost have to play the way Frank has played with him this season and just take a timely shot here and there.  If Brissett turns the ball over, there just isn't enough good to overcome the mistakes.  It's not like Luck.  If Luck turns the ball over, he can get into hurry up and score 10 points in 6 minutes.

There has to be some nuance.  Yes, we want Jacoby to throw downfield more.

But we also don't want him to throw wildly into double and triple coverage, either.  There's got to be a middle ground.

I don't remember asking JB to throw the ball to the other team downfield. I don't want him to throw off his back foot, lofting the ball in the air to no one in particular. I want him to make plays downfield.

By the way, 43 attempts yesterday. Only 3 went more than 20 yards. He was 1/3 for 25 yards with a pick.

We're getting to the point where it's pretty obvious that JB doesn't throw the ball down field because he knows he's not good at it.

Opposing defenses have also figured this out.

    • Gordon hit on some shorter throws. Nothing he did answers the questions about his arm strength. However he does get the ball out quick and throws with anticipation. He had a nice TD on his back foot with a fade to the corner of the endzone.   Love and Herbert looked in control.  Loves two long passes were on the WR.  They were beautiful throws. One was like 50 yards on his back foot and was just effortless while the pocket collapsed. He had a lot of hand offs to the RB. He had a couple nice shorter throws in the fourth.   So no I don’t think Gordon did anything that made it look like he outplayed them. All three did what they needed to. They didn’t hurt or help their draft position.
    • It really is a terrible set of cards to be dealt. I trust Ballard to do the best for the franchise even if it cost him his job. If BPA is a blue chip position other than QB, my money is on Ballard drafting that player.   Reaching for a QB is always a roll of the dice but I expect Ballard to stay true to his board and avoid it.  A lot will unfold between now and April so all this is speculation
    • Couldn’t narrow down 5 so here’s my top 10:   1) Chase Young 2) Isaiah Simmons 3) DeAndre Swift 4) Derrick Brown 5) Jerry Juedy 6) Jeffrey Okudah 7) CeeDee Lamb 8) Joe Burrow 9) Jonathon Taylor 10) Jedrick Wills
    • If we don’t draft a QB and we are still having QB issues next season he will be on the hot seat and at that point he might have to reach on QB next year just to save his job. By drafting one he will have a lot longer leash to give that guy time.
    • I agree, sadly, that is what professional sports has become.  It's all about the money.  I'm am on record being unimpressed with JB, and am highly doubtful, he somehow makes a miraculous improvement in his QB skills this offseason.   But if we start bringing FA's in, who are more interested in THEIR stats, and how much money they can make aka Ebron, then contributing to the team, then we are just digging ourselves a deeper hole.  You either want to be a Colt or you don't.
