PS for the rest of the season barring any more injuries, give him another full off season to fully recover and get him another shot in TC ..

How dare the Colts try to develop a project player from the 6th round.

Did you know it is harder to be a colts cheerleader than it is to land a spot on the Colts roster.

The Colts "organization" has never done a good job at developing anything. Hire good football players.

Remember when the colts spent a couple of years with this rugby player, 6'7 265lbs from Africa

named Daniel Adongo? ultimately he didn't like getting physical on the field. just a huge waste of time.

Remember Linkinback, huge man. could not block the sunlight. they kept bringing him back year after year. Colts need some talent scouts in the worse way. I could go down to the shipping docs in Baltimore and field an offensive in about 10 minutes.

I don't think they would fit in well in rose colored glasses land in Indiana.

I think Marcus Pollard was the only success story when it comes to developing a player.

They developed Jack Doyle.

I was going to put Bethea but he ended up being pretty much a day 1 starter.  Side note, I had the Colts drafting Bethea in the forum draft contest... pretty much guaranteed my victory that year. :)

I will take it Ballard believes Cain just won't quit at the craft.
Got to say i wasn't missing him. Good luck to him.

I thought he was back to the active roster...headline got me.

Of course they signed him back to the PS...they need quality footage for his 30 for 30. Joking aside, I hope he can get better.

Deon has another chance. And if he is smart he should get together with Chad Kelly and go to work. And prepare for Training Camp next year. Because it’s definitely starting to look like a try out camp in 2020. Hopefully Cain and Kelly can somehow get on the same page this year—next year there maybe a battle in TC

Just ridiculous to cut and resign the same players over and over.

While the way he expressed his frustration was off I understand the point he’s trying to make. I’d argue that his feelings should be more directed to the fans and media than the organization though.

The past few years there have been several project players who have gotten too much hype from the fans and also too much time from the organization. I don’t think Cain is one of them though. They did the right thing by putting him on the PS. I’ve seen worse. I think this is an area where Ballard is better than Grigson. I mean Fountain was his 2018 5th rounder and he put him on the PS. He also cut that huge tackle from USC he drafted in the 4th relatively quick.

What was the name of that huge DT who I think came from the AFL that people had a man crush on? He was on the 53 way too long IMO.

With a lot of “development” I really believe that Cain has the potential to be the most hyped Practice Squad player ever for the Colts.

Motivation.....the fear of loss is a major motivator in the human mind.

I agree that fans go overboard on the hype, especially with lower drafted players. And it is easy to point out the players that the team seemingly spends too much time on...but how much is too much? If I remember correctly, same fans were saying the same thing about Jerry Hughes. He was considered a bust, and we needed to move on and not waste time. As it turns out, we could have really used him all these years since he was signed by Buffalo.

But to the OP, Cain is where he should be and will likely get next year to make or break. Honestly? I have no idea whether or not he makes the leap. Lord knows we could use him.

    • Smith to RG and draft a tackle?   or    Draft a RG and leave Smith at RT.
    • Im talking Dj Chark or Evans type. I wanted the Colts to draft Chark. We could have got him instead we got Turay and Lewis lol. Not complaining can hit on everything. Drafted Chark.
    • Actually those are all short heights for the average NFL reciever. I think I said a bigger possession reciever. Something more like 6'4 6'5. I guess Pascal is average height. I want that guy with a huge catch radius who can go up and bring down those high 50/50 throws. Dont get me wrong we have good talent but height insnt coachable. If you find TY talent that is 6'4 you take it over 5'9.
    • I think it doesn´t matter which Qb (IF at all)  you take at 15 (or 14 or16...),he should sit a year and learn anyway. So it wouldn´t be really a loss to start him in his 2nd year.
    • I thought we’d go 8-8 or 9-7 with JB, the rooks, turmoil of losing a franchise QB. we’re not that far off, even with all the injuries.  Which were many.   I was hoping we’d squeak in the playoffs.   I also thought Frank wanted an offense that put pressure on the D.  I really didnt see the creativity i did last year.  Not gimmicks, But creativity in formations and playcalling.  Perhaps it was due to our losses at WR and TE.  I also was confused by our bi-polar personality when it comes to risk and being aggressive.   I dont think the sky is falling (long-term), but some changes, and perhaps tweaks, are necessary.
