Next week I think Jacoby starts as does Desir.  Funchess comes off IR.  We also have a new kicker.  Three division foes in a row coming up.  Time to quit messing around and right the ship.

aint gonna happen with Hoyer or Brissett.

I dont even know what to believe when it comes to favorites.  We beat KC and Houston then lose to a bunch of scrubs and The Bearded One.  Throw a dart, read some possum organs, or shake a magic 8 ball, all are going to be just as good at predicting our tachycardia-inducing performance.

Is Funchess coming back, though? I didn't hear anything about him practicing yet and that would be a bad sign.

Funchess is a ghost. All the preseason chatter about him seems funny now. Even if he comes back this season I imagine it will take the rest of the year to start to get back to his old average self.

Ballard can't draft or sign wide receivers to save his life.

Really? Funch had a freak injury. Are you really going to blame him for that? It sounds like you are, but that can't be because that would be ridiculously dumb.

Perhaps, you just hated the signing from the get-go and now you can use this injury as justification...

Fitzmagic was too much for us.

Hoenstly though, let’s look at this:

-Hoyer is garbage, but Brisset will likely play

-Our top two WR yesterday were Zach Pascal and Chester Rogers

-The D played well most of the game

-Our OL was much better than against Pitt

-We still haven’t lost a division game (knocks furiously on wood)

-We still have 5 wins, and could finish the year 12-4

-The AFC is weak

Now, are those excuses for yesterday? No, we still played like crap.

But we have reason for optimism, and I think things will get better.

Let’s go out there these next three weeks and punch Jax, Hou, and Ten right in their mouths and claim back the South!

Go Colts!!!

(Also, would it really be a Colts football season if we didn’t lose at least one game against a garbage team?)

Also another big one. Willis has replaced Gaethers as the starter.  Yeah!  Hard to believe it took that long.

I don't think you can say the offensive line played better, rather they played a defense/dline that is pathetic.

If they had played better we would have avg more than 3.8 ypc against the worst run def in the league and Hoyer wouldn't have been hit the face multiple times.

My wife and I are going to the Jags game. I hope Brissett is back which I'm thinking he probably will be after watching the terrible Hoyer show. We're going to bring some good juju as we've never witnessed a loss in person at Lucas Oil stadium so far. Fingers crossed. lol

Going to need the defense to play big this game. Don’t trust the offense against good defenses. Where is Malik Hooker? He hasn’t made any impact plays since the Chargers game.

Since returning from injury, Hooker has probably played the best run defense of his career. They've been using him in the box a lot and he has flashed on my screen multiple times. I've noted it because I was shocked to see Hooker making a tackle in the backfield or taking on a block, etc.

To be fair injuries  have crippled  us. Hilton is the offense  still.

Chargers, Raiders, Steelers, Dolphins...all four losses have been against garbage teams, and that's a huge problem

Let's hope neither develop a hangnail or are bitten by a mosquito.  They'd be week to week.

I absolutely to compare injuries because I'm not a doctor, I don't know anybody else's pain tolerance....

But I'm going to today.

Pat Mahomes knee wasn't in place 3 weeks ago.

Julian (I get cracked every game and show up on the injury list but never actually miss a game) Edelman has been injured for like 3 years

I know concussion protocol is league wide. but how in the f did Josh allen get smoked on the field.. was out cold. exits the game and passes to play the next week.. Then we randomly hear about Leonard having a concussion and he's out a month?

I'm sorry, I'll probably get slammed for this post for "not knowing anything" but I'm just frustrated guys..

Yes because Funchess breaking his collarbone was completely his or Ballard’s fault

Funnily enough I’ll bet TY and Brisset both would just keep playing, I think the only thing holding them back is the medical staff and the coaching staff. They’ve both played through a lot of pain before

    • Sure alot can get a 1000 yards, but what makes wrs elite are the ones who score alot and catch first downs. Colts don't have a wr on the roster that scores alot. Pittman is a wr 2 in my opinion. Pierce a wr 4 with wr 2 potential. Downs wr 2/3. Neither one of those guys are marvin Harrison  or Reggie Wayne. None of our safeties are Bob sanders. None of our edge rushers are freeney or Mathis. No Nick harpers, Kelvin Hayden, marlin Jackson, or vontaome Davis at cb So we can stand to improve  at wr, s, pass rush, and cb. We have alot of solid  guys sprinkled across the roster but very few I'd consider  elite. Buckner, Nelson, and a healthy Taylor  are among the elite. That is why I'm hoping for a game changing player in the first round. Most rookie corners aren't  that.
    • Two relevant points.   Regarding the team ALWAYS going to be run first team, RB shelf life is short and JT has already played a lot of years compared to average peak time for RBs, so there aren't many years in him into the future unless he goes on like Adrian Peterson. This team was run first because QBs weren't good, was it run first with Andrew Luck? I don't think this team is going to be run-first offense ALWAYS, especially after drafting AR, while expecting him to grow to be a franchise QB-level passer.   Yes, it's all true that Jefferson got drafted at 22,Ceedee went 17, Juedy went 15 , Aiyuk 25 and Higgins 33 but GM has gotta pick the right guy at right time and other teams shouldn't get to the right guy before Colts do.   For every Jefferson at #22 example, there's a Jalen Reagor at #21. The toughest part in picking Jefferson at #22 is not picking a bust like Reagor and missing out on Jefferson. As you go away from the top of the Draft, hitting on busts is more likely than exactly drafting the perfect right guy. Drafting isn't that easy, without the help of hindsight.    Right now, We can't name which of the WRs in upcoming draft will be a good value, good return pick. Of course, 4 years later in 2028, everyone can point out Jefferson or Higgins or Lamb or Aiyuk of 2024 WR Draft Class.
    • No idea why you can't PM me. I did pm u a week or two ago. No idea if u received it.
    • Replace Arnold with Brian thomas jr  and I'll agree
    • This draft is loaded with offensive talent as Ballard noted. The move up to try to secure a MHJ , Nabers or Rome will be STEEP. People are forgetting how good a Adonai , Brian Thomas, Troy Franklin or Legette could be. This team will always be a run first team not a pass centered team so the need for a DYNAMIC Wr isn’t really as pressing as people make it seem. You can still get quality players if you trade back and acquire more picks for MORE quality players. Just look at the 2020 draft class Justin Jefferson didn’t come off the board until pick 22.  Ceedee went 17. Juedy went 15 , Aiyuk 25 and Higgins 33. So I disagree I don’t think we NEED to trade up and I surely hope they don’t.
