This should have been an easy win in which we were honoring one of the greatest to ever wear the Shoe.

Should have been a blowout like the good ol days when Manning and Freeney were the best 1-2 punch in the NFL.

Instead we put that dumpster fire on display for all the old Colt greats...

Doubt any ex or present day players are losing sleep ,unlike me .

Well, if it makes you feel any better the D played well, especially considering Hoyer had 3 INTs and a fumble.

He got swindled out of millions of dollars by his financial adviser

Yeah...they took $20M from him. After taxes, agent fees, etc...$20M in cash gone IS a big sum of money...even for someone like Freeney. Pro athletes are easier targets for these *.

I hope he is able to recoup some of that. I know the suit agaisnt B of A got dismissed...and he was going to sue Merrill Lynch...but I don't know the latest.

He should ask Irsay to make him whole. After all he gave Luck 26 million for doing nothing.

Irsay did let him play out the final year of his contract at a very hefty price...in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year. Most teams would have released Freeney in that scenario...especially with the switch to the 3-4. But Irsay is loyal...almost to a fault.

According to Celebrity Net Worth (2019) he is worth around 10 millions dollars.

That is still a pretty great deal of money. Just saying. lol

Yep.  He's set for the rest of his life.

Also has opportunities to make more than any of us each year.

Here is what I'm sure will be an unpopular opinion:

I never thought Freeney was as good as most thought he was.   Don't get me wrong, I didn't think he was bad.  The Colts were so much better having him on the team.

He enjoyed being on a team that was set up for him.

The Colts had horrible run defenses.   Teams could run for 5+ yards a carry.   But we had Manning.  Manning had a knack at getting some quick 1st half scores.   The opposing teams would give up on their running game and go almost only pass.   Freeney would then get to pin his ears back and go for the QB.  It worked to perfection.  He would only get around 25 tackles each season, so he was not a help in the run game.   In fact it seems that teams would run to his side most of the time.  Freeney was so fast, by the time the QB handed the ball off, Freeney was already 2 yards over the line and there was a hole to run through.

Freeney was a sack specialist. You are correct with the opinion that he couldn't stop the run. (or pass for that matter)

As a whole the Colts defense was very poor. I did get very tired of seeing 5 yard passes or runs turning out to be 20-25 yard plays.

If you subtract Sanders from the 2006 playoffs, Manning would not have a superbowl win in indy.

But if you add Sanders to more games than he missed in his career, Maybe Manning would of had more Super Bowls at INDY.  then if you subtract Manning from 2006, then even with Sanders we might have not won. See how this Adding and then subtracting can change things?

Really? It was a lot more than that.

If you want to bring in what ifs how about this?

If the Patriots were not as good as they were the Colts would have a few superbowls.
