Texans trade for Raiders G. Conley

Recommended Posts

That was a move I wish we had made at some point, but oh well.   Putting him together with the rookie from Kentucky will help them tighten some things up.

Ehh I like who we have and you have to be able to tackle to make this Colts team. Conley has been awful at tackling guys and I'm sure that's one big reason Gruden shipped him off.

Also, should the Texans even show up to the draft next year? Do they even have any picks left?

I think he's got tons of talent.  If we had a sensible way to obtain him I think we could have made better use of his skill set on our team.

The report says Conley has a 130 something passer rating against him this year. Not sure if that will help them out. Texans have only two picks in the top three rounds total for next two years. O’Brien is going all in on this year. If it doesn’t work out then it will be the next coaches problem.

I was wondering the same thing, they’ve sold the farm to bet on a race horse with 3 legs

O'Brien is in his last year if the Texans don't make the playoffs.

I gotta agree. Those trades smell of desperation...and unwashed jocks.

    • i agree, we could be a contender with a proven talent
    • So I’ve been curious about the draft and the idea of drafting a QB.   I know that I am a known JB supporter and totally believe that given a healthy set of weapons he could be above average QB.    Back to my what if. A lot of people really like Jordan Love, Jacob Eason and Jake Fromm. What if they go back to school and we can’t get/Ballard doesn’t like Burrow, Herbert and Tua?   Love is rumored to be considering transferring to Oklahoma (who could blame him). Fromm has not had a great year and seems to love Georgia. Eason could want another year to show he is a 1st round talent.    So my question is what would you like the Colts to do?  Still draft a QB like Hurts in the 2nd-3rd round or draft a developmental QB like Kellen Mond in the later Rounds and go heavy on improving the weapons for Jacoby and possibly draft a QB next year.   That class would have Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields, Jordan Love, Jake Fromm, Jacob Eason, JT Daniels.    Thoughts?
    • I agree with all of this.   People got so excited that Eli was playing and the Giants were winning.   He completed 50% of his passes for crying out loud.  Heck, the ESPN staff this morning was talking like he won a huge game.  "Which team can he help get to the Super Bowl"?  Eli has never been a great QB.  Losing record in games he has started.     Yeah, I know Rivers to the Colts won't happen.  Just my wishful thinking for 1 year.   Maybe he could show Reich how to use Hines.  Rivers uses Ekeler the way I would like to see Hines used.   Mostly I fear Brissett will be the starting QB next season and we'll have another season of .500 ball.     I would take Cam over Brissett but I wouldn't want to ink him to a long contract.  He is signed for 2020 already, so the risk would be minimal.
    • lighting it up is completing long passes like some on this forum think jb cant do. rivers is not done 3748 yds third in the nfl. was never team jb, he is just the best we have now, and i dont see any one elite in this years draft, i am for getting a proven talent at qb, it worked for the titans
