Texans trade for Raiders G. Conley

Recommended Posts

That was a move I wish we had made at some point, but oh well.   Putting him together with the rookie from Kentucky will help them tighten some things up.

Ehh I like who we have and you have to be able to tackle to make this Colts team. Conley has been awful at tackling guys and I'm sure that's one big reason Gruden shipped him off.

Also, should the Texans even show up to the draft next year? Do they even have any picks left?

I think he's got tons of talent.  If we had a sensible way to obtain him I think we could have made better use of his skill set on our team.

The report says Conley has a 130 something passer rating against him this year. Not sure if that will help them out. Texans have only two picks in the top three rounds total for next two years. O’Brien is going all in on this year. If it doesn’t work out then it will be the next coaches problem.

I was wondering the same thing, they’ve sold the farm to bet on a race horse with 3 legs

O'Brien is in his last year if the Texans don't make the playoffs.

I gotta agree. Those trades smell of desperation...and unwashed jocks.

    • The two decisions will be made independent of each other.   While they are both called tight end,  they do not play the same position.    Signing Doyle has nothing to do with keeping or not keeping Ebron.   If we want to keep Ebron, we will.   If we don’t, then we won’t.  And I don’t know what the final decision will be?   I’m more curious about guys like AC and TYH.   Those decisions are far more important.
    • Yeah and he made a big kick to send it to OT too. I just need to see more. It is like that with everything though. If we draft a rookie QB, I want to see wins if he plays to get me happy
    • Same. I'm not crowning him, but the kick he missed in the Seattle game was a 47 yarder, not exactly a gimme. And he made a 47 yarder to send the game into OT, so he's shown the ability to make a pressure kick.   Just have to let him show what he can do.
    • I would do away with divisions. I have said this for probably 10 years now. I would just take the 6 best teams from each conference and keep the same playoff seeding's we have now. I said that after the Chargers got HFA over us in 2008 being 8-8 and we were 12-4.
    • What makes you so sure Ebron even wants to come back?  As for his qb, he wasn't exactly lighting it up his entire career with Stafford.... So it wasn't all JB.  18 Ebron was a fluke.  Doyle will never get 13 TDs in a yr, but he also will never cry about getting the ball, proceed to drop all the added targets, and then shut himself down for the year so he can blame it on some injury, so there's that context also when choosing who gets a deal....
