cain and Campbell  succeeding  may be key to beating the Patriots  in the playoffs. That's  why we need atleast one of them to step up. Belichick will probably  take mack out the game early  and force us to pass. Then he'll take away Hilton  and pascal.

Gilmore on Pascal then double TY. Seems like Belicheck game plan. They did a lot of cover 0 blitz tonight to a guy that has historically been great against the Blitz. He never throw a pick until last night against the blitz

Also Wilson continues to be an issue. There’s no reason a CB should get beat in coverage by a 6’7” TE. It would be understandable if he got beat for a jump ball, but Fells straight up beat him off the line. Haven’t been impressed with this secondary overall. Really looks like Hooker carries them tbh.

And yes, Glow sticks out like a sore thumb. He needs to be upgraded at some point. Teams are going to start targeting him if they haven’t already.

Still feel the same way about the DT position. Box score doesn’t show it but there were a few chunk runs by Hyde and Johnson that they got way too easy.

Turray wasn’t really a loss to this team. Sheard and Houston are a nice duo

You don’t think Turay’s impeccable speed off the edge wouldn’t be useful?

To an extent yes but he was a rotational player so it’s not like he had a huge impact on the pass rush. Not to mention that he isn’t great in run support. You miss something when either Sheard or Houston aren’t on the field but that’s about it. Turray was still young and unrefined.

Now now Krunk. No need to be like that. We have always been cordial to each other, over many many years.

And while we are all hoping Cain finally catches a ball, the Patriots snaffle Sanu.

Just messing with ya bro

Guys, if you don't think a first round pick is worth it on a guard, just remember what Nelson has done to transform this offense! Having a superior offensive line is demoralizing to opponents.

Here's a few stats from the Texans game on Glow

6\25 RUN plays he was beat, missed his guy, held, fell down in the hole, or completely wiffed on the second level block (that's 24% of running plays)

15\44 PASS plays he was beat with a swim move, didnt pick up the stunt, held, or was powered straight thru (that's 34% of pass plays)

That's between A quarter and a third of our offense being affected by his play. Most of these misses had a direct affect of Brissett getting hit or hurried or the running game getting stuffed.

That's straight from the tape  and has nothing to do with scheme. Straight up man assignments. A lot of the successful plays he was part of a double team, or the pass was so quick he didn't have time to fail.

Watch the tape

I think he went against Watt, most of the day. Humm Most have a hard time against him. I will give him a pass, on this one. He is normally solid.

    • East and I used to talk about this.  It was difficult to see what the club had in mind with their drafts.     I thought and still think that they would love to be an aggressive C2 type of team or a Tampa base type.  Drafting Rock seemed like evidence of this.  He seems like a hard C2 corner who is going to help close down the EDGE and beat up on releasing WRs.     But then we had just gotten Hooker who was the classic single high C3, C1 centerfielder, So WTPH?  We drafted Leonard who obviously wasn't and is probably never going to be a a great coverage LB.  And we've never even tried to get after a coverage LB as far as I can tell.     Then we get Blackmon which would make one think that we were going to have him come up and hit, but then we were dropping Hooker before the Achilles, because he was a budding star in the single high and then had a mediocre year in more of a 2 high scheme, then improved and we decided we didn't want him.   But overdrafts at DE, have really ruined any plans.  Hopefully Dayo and Paye pan out and we get the Front 4 pressure the D desperately needs. I am not convinced they will.  I like Paye but the ole Undeveloped pass rusher thing hasn't been great lately.    It's pretty hard to figure out, and I think we are a mess on D.
    • Can’t blame the general manager when there aren’t quality backups on the team? Can’t blame the head coach for poor play calling and game management? Are you upset that people aren’t happy the Colts are terrible this year and weren’t prepared to play a long season.   The Ravens had a ton of injuries (a couple season ending) to start the year and they are playing well. It’s Ballard’s fault for not having quality backups pieces (and the Colts DO NOT have many) and it’s Reichs fault for allowing the Colts to lose these “winnable games” So yes, it is their fault.   Also, Colts are middle to high in the league for injuries every year, sometimes it’s not “unlucky” sometimes it the way training staff and medical staff handle the players.
    • The 53 man roster was extended when the 10-man PS became 16.    But, the NFL needs to do away with trimming the 53 to 46/47 on game day.   This has never been a good idea.    Ive read in the past that the weaker franchises are in favor of this rule as they think it helps them be more competitive with the better run franchises.    It’s time to man-up and play all your players.
    • Yeah, and I don't think Frank Reich is necessarily embracing this approach. If asked, he would still tout the 'run to set up the pass / play action' line that every coach has been saying for 40 years.    I just think the early situations dictated it. The first drive is an example. Successful pass play, first down. Then play action (which I love, I want to see more play action after successful pass plays, even twice in a row), which resulted in a sack because Wentz had nowhere to throw the ball and refused to throw it away. Now it's 2nd and 16, and we know what the situation calls for. I don't think they intended to not call a run play on the first series, they just got behind the chains and couldn't get that second first down.    But, maybe analyzing that approach will impress something on Reich's mind, and the early scripts won't have to be run heavy out of a sense of duty to the run game. Just call good plays, execute, and get your offense going. The run game will take care of itself. We have a great RB, and the OL is doing a reasonably good job run blocking (still struggling in short yardage), so we don't have to force it.
    • Because your think they just announce the restructure the same morning we find out about Blackmon. I doubt that.
