Agreed.  If they don’t bring up Green they could bring back Phillips.

That would be my hope as well. He was a smaller guy than I’d want at full time DE but for a pass rush on 3rd down, he was a real bright spot in PS.

Isn't Green on the Patriots PS?

He is back with us now.

Might as well promote him and see if he is any good.

We are talking about Carol Phillips correct? I’m for calling that guy back up and he isn’t on the PS currently. I think Green is just too raw and I’d rather pick up Phillips if he is still out there. He knows the playbook and two weeks to prepare with the team because of the bye week.

Muhummad will get turays snaps, and he is very underrated imo.  We need to replace his snaps.

Also sheard had double digit sacks last year iirc, so he's no slouch.

Resign Phillips and hope banogu gets a clue.

It’s always a defender smh. Leonard, Hooker, Desir, and now Turray. We’re turning into last year’s Atlanta Falcons. Luckily Sheard is back. We should be fine. The biggest loss is for Turray’s development.

The nice thing is, we're still 3-2 going into a buy week and we should have Hooker and Leonard back off the bye (Hooker may take another week or two, but I think his goal was to return to practice immediately after the bye).  Desir's been back, but IMO he has looked pretty slow the past 2 weeks, hopefully that changes after the bye.

I don't know if you saw the post game celebration video (I cannot find it on Colts.com but it was on their FaceBook page:

anyway, Houston basically says in our 2 losses we beat ourselves, and it's up to the team to stop beating themselves because nobody can beat them if they make other teams beat us instead of us beating ourselves... I agree with him, we could easily be 5-0 right now.. even though we're injured and not playing our best ball yet, we're still 3-2 (compared to 1-4 at this point last year) and we should only get better.

I think he was talking about Green (promoting from the PS to the active)... I found it kinda weird that we didn't keep Phillips on the PS, and sort of think it'd be odd if we brought him to the active roster while keeping a guy like Green on the PS.  However, in terms of short-term pass rush needs, I would think Phillips is the better answer than Green.

Benogu and Lewis need to step up now

Lewis needs to get healthy, it seems like that is/has been his major issue.

CB....

i think you're confusing Sheard with someone else.   I don’t believe Sheard has ever had double digit sacks in his career.   I believe he he had 5.5 last year and 11 total over two seasons with the Colts.

Perhaps you're confusing him with Houston?    I think he was at or near double digits last year...

I feel like Kemoko was well on his way towards establishing himself as a legit pass rushing threat in our defense.  Unfortunate that his season was cut so short. I liked what little we saw.  Hoping his recovery goes well and he can pick up next year where he left off.

You could definitely see what Ballard saw in him. If he can stay healthy, he's definitely a legit NFL pass rusher.

Definitely feel for the guy because he's been putting in the work.

So it was a break and a dislocation...don't think I'd seen confirmation of the latter until this. Is there any way this injury could be career altering or worse, ending?

No,

He will get proper corrective treatment and should  be back next year.

And the high ankle sprain with dislocation/fracture was called by Dr Chao, well before anyone else.

Oh I saw the Dr. Chao tweet last night, I just meant actual confirmation from the Colts regardless of how obvious it seemed from his perspective.

But that's good to hear, that he should be back and ready to go next year.

Yes, the Colts often don't 'get it right' even on the 'easy' calls medically.  I never 'listen' to CB/JI/FR on medical updates.

    • FWIW:  sometimes when a player like Blackmon gets a one year deal it’s the players call as much if not more than the front office.   The player believes in themselves and are wanting a one year deal so they can go back into free agency sooner.  They view a multiyear deal as below market value.   Blackmon’s deal has a base plus incentives.  It’s not an insult.

    • Spencer rattler better than Michael Penix Jr and Nix. Wow! That has to be one the most ridiculous takes I have ever heard. To be honest I have never heard of that Tice guy either. McCarthy will be the biggest bust in this draft and I feel confident in saying so. McCarthy = Mac Jones. Washington went as Penix went, he had to carry Washington all season with an above average O.Line and average running game. He had Rome and that was about it. McCarthy had the best O.Line in the country and arguably the best running game as well. He was a game manager and could win as long as he didn't turn it over. Michigan beat Washington because they ran for nearly 300 yards. Tommie Frazier would have won it all with that type of offense and he wasn't even drafted.   Regarding Kirk Cousins, at least you don't have him to pile on anymore. You will see how life without Kirk is, the Vikings will be lucky to win 7 games and I like the Vikings as a team. My father would be so disappointed in the Vikings FO right now and their fans at the way Kirk was treated. He was still alive in 2018 when the Vikings got Kirk and he loved the move. He was the biggest fan I ever knew. He loved them when they got Fran in the 70's and was a fan until he passed away in 2019. His favorite player was Peterson in this era. He said he would take him over any RB that ever played except maybe Barry Sanders.    Kirk Cousins career with the Vikings: 2018-2023 *50-37-1 Record. A playoff win at New Orleans Saints in 2019, beating Brees.   *4 seasons with over 4000 yards   *3 seasons with over 30 TD's   *7.8 Y/A I know, they should draft Penix.
    • Regarding Worthy -4.21 Speed has to be accounted for by a defense whether the ball is coming his way or not. So does that potentially create more opportunities for other Colt offensive playmakers.  I would say yes. I am sure the Colts have taken note at the impact of Tank Dell 5'10 165ibs (709 yds) on the Texans offense in his rookie year. If it helps take advantage of AR's physical tools and unlocks part of the Colts offensive playbook I am all for it. He is a quick twitch football player and not just a track guy. He is third all time in longhorn history with TD catches in 26 of 39 games, and has caught a pass in all 39 games.
    • I wouldn’t be so quick to include Cross in your comments.   It’s fine for you to say YOU don’t have confidence in Cross, but I think the coaches and front office certainly do.   And I think the coaches and FO also have more confidence than you do in Juju and Jones and Flowers.     Just saying….
