Week 3 impressions: Brissett

Recommended Posts

All the talk over the past few years about JB from Ballard and Reich seems to have Been the truth. He plays like he is better than 1/4 of the starters in this league...

I'm betting Ballard's going to add a veteran wideout or two to the roster, especially if TY misses any serious length of time

Who do you cut to make room?  The other guys have to step up

If we continue to have multiple WRs on the IR, room isn't a problem.

if TY gets healthy fast, and isn't on the IR, this isn't a problem.

Either way, it isn't a probem.

We need a legit number 2 WR though its becoming clear its not going to be Cain.

Way too early to say that.

I don't think a quad injury is going to land him on the IR.

Meanwhile Pascal will just keep catching the ball.

He is so valuable with the way he blocks and then stepped up big time. Although he was wide open both times. That was a ballsy move on 3rd and 1.

He’s a very accurate QB that can make all the throws.  If the line gives him time, he can pick any defense apart.  Great to see him getting some respect.

When I'm wrong, I'm really wrong...Jacoby is doing everything being ask of him, he is performing at a very high level right now. Most importantly, he is not turning the ball over and is showing great poise and maturity for such a young player. If our defense can start being more consistent and the injury bug can go away, this team should make the playoffs!

I have been a JB skeptic, but he looked great today.  I loved it!

What is more impressive to me is this is the third game in a row he has come through in the fourth quarter. That was my main concern and so far he has been clutch.

I agree he looks very poised.

If this is the Jacoby we are getting then we should be a playoff team. So thats exciting.

I think he will get even better.    Oakland may get lit up next week if TY can play

Jacoby Brissett became just the 3rd QB in #Colts franchise history with a 115+ passer rating in 2 of the first 3 weeks of a season. Others: Peyton Manning (2009, 2004) and Johnny Unitas (1964).

Obi-Wan Jacoby continues to impress.  He was an assassin in the first half.  I thought he looked a little rattled at the start of the 1st drive in the fourth but he pulled it together.   The "game manager" manages to win another game and I'm not all that surprised.  I'm really starting to root for this kid.

Good thing we never traded Brissett. We probably could have got a lot for him too.

But not trading him was the right decision.

I'm just hoping they dont look past oakland.....I'd hate for them to drop that one.

That might be one of Ballard’s best non move ever.

In the 3rd quarter, didn’t the offense only run 3 plays?  Kind of difficult to conclude they looked weak, when it was only 3 plays.

Regardless of the number of plays they still gave up alot of pressure even before the 3rd quarter

I thought the OL gave up a good deal of pressure today. Falcons had run game stuffed for most of the day. Forced us to have Jacoby beat the #1 pass defense in football. And he did it with no sweat! #Brissett Ball works.

Always room for improvement, especially with a young team, but as long as one part of the team steps up when another struggles, we should be all right

Their dline has some beef. We are lucky Jarrett was out on that last drive.

Reich dialed it up about as good as you can get.  They were coming with pressure on the outside

(not much up the middle) on pass rush, so we started throwing the ball.  We did more damage on them running up the middle.  They couldn't stop both with any consistency.  Great game plan on offense and great execution.

With Frank as the coach,   I don't think that will happen.   They all know they have to get better.   Was a nice win,   but far from pretty

I'll trust the brass to do the right thing.   If he needs rest,   they will rest him.    But TY is a baller.   He will want to play if he can

will all the Brissett threads be merged? guess this will go on each week with folks wavering back and forth to prove if they are right or wrong about the QB.
