Quarterbacks are falling like flies

Recommended Posts

Big Ben is having season ending surgery and Drew Brees is out until at least week ten or eleven. My guess is chad Kelly would not make it through waivers.

It looks like a good year in 2020 for QBs getting drafted early and often.

And that means some EXPENSIVE trades. People thinking we're gonna be able to trade up for some Franchise QB are living in fantasy world.

Yeah, I have no doubt the Colts win 7-9 games at least, so that would be a lot of drafts picks to give up in order to select a QB. Frankly, I’m not ecstatic about the 2020 crop.

The colts are catching a huge break with these QB injuries. The only real QB they play in weeks 8-14 is Watson.

Kansas City traded up to 10 to get mahomes. It is possible. We have to see how JB grows this season first.

hmmm, so I have had 5 of those QBs on my fantasy team thus far this season... maybe I should put Watson on there? :peek:

Hmmm that’s leaves them with just their practice squad QB.

Yes/no.

For example, Brees is 40, if NO ends up with a top 10 pick, they're gonna be looking for his replacement.  Big Ben is getting up there in age as well, steelers look like they could be a top 5 pick, they're going to be looking for Ben's replacement, or at should.

Its not that the injuries are career ending, its that some of these teams have QBs nearing the end of their careers regardless. Others, are dealing with injury prone QBs.

I'm just saying that the competition for the handful of decent QB prospects is gonna cause any asking prices for a trade to balloon in the next year or two.

Add in the Jets Darnold our with Mono, and their backup has a broken ankle.  There #3 QB gets to play the Pats next weekend.. could QB #4 start the week after?

Jets Siemien out for the year. Carolina is probably next. Luck has to be patting himself on the back.

Maybe, but he's probably too busy snowboarding to even care

Just read a note that with Brees being out and he is tied with Brady for career TDs Brady will be first to break Manning's record but that's only fair because Brady never gets any coverage in the sports medias.

    • I’m getting pretty convinced about Herbert.  He’s going to be good.  I think Ballard would be more likely to trade up for Herbert than to sit at 13 or 34 and take Love (who will be vastly over drafted because of an upside that he likely won’t even come close to).  Anyway, you can drive yourself nuts trying to figure out what teams are interested in what players, as many visits, rumors, and actions are orchestrated to confuse or deceive other teams.  All you end up with is an unreliable guess...
    • Hurts TD pass was nice, he dropped that right over the top and of the defender and into the arms.   Gordon's TD pass, like you stated, falling over and still placed it exactly where it needed to be.  But, IMO, even more impressive was the pass in the endzone that wasn't a TD.  They just got backed up by a holding call and he threw a dart at the back of the endzone the ND receiver just could not come down with his feet in bounds.  But the zip and ball placement on that pass were near perfect.   I thought Love's pass in the 1st quarter was going for a TD.  I think the receiver just lost it in the sun.   Found a link for the Gordon pass https://twitter.com/i/status/1221191244564426753   Like one of the comments in the thread.  It was a great throw but all the announcers talked about was how he could have ran the ball.  He doesn't have a huge arm, but scrambling to the left and throwing that pass 25 yards on a rope shows he has the arm strength for the NFL.
    • Looking at the state of the team and the state of the fan base. This year is a draft the Colts can’t afford to get wrong. I compare getting a QB (I hope they actually do) is like buying a house or a home.  you can get shoes online, clothes online, even furniture online. But when you are getting a house, a home. You go to walk through it. Look at inspection reports. Look at neighborhood it sits on just to name a few. Getting a QB you will personally check him out not one time, but many times. You bring other coaches and scouts to check him out. I hope this guy is the answer this draft
    • That was supposed to say "baseball coach", not basketball coach.
    • A 60 year colts fan ! Living in Maryland n catching he'll year in year out. I've stuck. I can't believe CB/FR would make that huge of mistake. It would devastate us even at 13 pick. DT Brown/ Kinlaw/Espenza lamb/ Juedy Riggs best corner other too be had .In 2nd or third. 3 of best ever came 2ND one drafted 19 the rd. One taken in 6th. This just my opinion. We have the money n while u can't sign every free agent . I say go get best pass richer available and up n coming DT .you live in win in the trenches take care of that first for most.
